      OP why do you need to ask us anyway? It sounds like you have got a good idea what you want. Don't even see much difference with the Note 5

        I have a good idea what I want but it doesn't exist, so thought I'd ask what others have chosen to replace their note 7s with. Not much difference to the note 5, mostly expandable memory and waterproofing. Kind of hard to go back to a note 5 now though :(

    Yeah leaning towards it, but feels like a downgrade :( never realised how much I use the stylus
    I like the look of cheaper xiaomi phones compared to s7e because no stylus in either

      YUpe. Wifey is using note for the stylus and she is also looking for a replacement now and need suggestion/s for phone with stylus (if they exist).

  I've been using a xiaomi redmi note 2 for over a year to hold me over after I broke my iPhone 4S, but I can't get over how bad the camera is. Everything else is pretty good if you don't mind MIUI. I tried a couple different roms (CM, AOSP) but they all have lots of bugs and terrible battery life.

  I would probably suggest nexus 6p? I for one will be getting the Pixel as I pretty much want an iPhone that runs android.

  V20 is my suggestion but like you said, very expensive. I have a Redmi Note 3 and it is absolutely brilliant with CM13, but the camera is disheartening. Perhaps take a look at the newer Redmi Pro or Mi Note, has a better cam. You could always get a 6P also.

  I ended up with an s7 edge, sold my note 5 to by the note 7. Obviously didn't pan out. I would have stuck with the note 5. After using the edge for a week, it's not really an upgrade from the note 5, more of a side step without the stylus.

  I think Note 5 with enough storage for your needs would be the only choice of you need the stylus.

  If you don't need stylus then you have heaps of choice. I have been this year with HTC One M8, iPhone 6s plus, Nexus 6P, Sony XPeria 5 compact and now LG G5.

  From all of these the LG G5 is my definite favourite and might be using it while next year as well :)

  I have the Note 7 and wanted it for the stylus and camera specs.
  Can't find another phone that has a stylus and I can't see myself going back to a Samsung in the near (or far) future.

  Actually have my eye on the Oppo R9s Plus due to be released in December. The camera specs looks really good!
