Just saw this on the today show, first 1000 apparently.
Vaya - First Month for $4, Any Plan

I don't care if vaya paid me $4.00 a month, I still wouldn't go back to them. It's a world of aggravation for the saving of a couple of bucks per month.
I second that
please be aware that they will charge $30 if you want to discontinue the plan.
no fee for porting out though.
yup! this guy is correct! I signed with VAYA many years ago due to their cheap plans, but when I wanted to disconnect the service they told me I have to pay an exit fee of $30.
Hi leasaunce,
This is no longer the case - you can cancel at anytime and won't be charged a fee.
Hi elcheapo,
There is no disconnection fee. If you wish to cancel your plan, you can do so at anytime and won't be charged a fee.
Do you still charge an extra month in advance which isn't refunded upon termination?
Do you also, upon termination mid month cycle, still charge pro-rata instead of refund pro-rata as it's a post paid service?
Hi Frig,
The pro rata will come into effect in your second month from when you activate. For example, if you join halfway through the month then you will be credited 50% of your plan cost the following month (i.e. you'll get 50% off). If you cancel mid month, you are not charged anything extra but you will not be refunded the difference - e.g. if you cancelled halfway through the month then you won't be refunded 50% of your plan cost. Hope that makes sense! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers, Ian
So what happens with usage quotas? Are they prorated on the entry and exit month?
@Frig: They are not prorated. You will get your full inclusions on your first and last month.
So are you saying you will give people the full inclusions even if they join part way through the month and not charge them for it?
Say I join 80% of the way through the month. I get 100% of the data/calls etc and only pay 20% for that month?
Doesn't sound right.@Frig: If you join 80% of the way through the month, you will get 100% of the inclusions and will be credited 80% of the plan fee on the second month. So if you signed up 50% through the month on our Unlimited 1GB $16 plan, you would pay $16 on sign up and get full inclusions. In the second month you will pay 50% of $16 ($8) and get full inclusions. We do not prorate your inclusions but we do prorate your plan cost :)
Cheers, Ian
@Frig: Just to add to this, we did prorate inclusions in the past, however, we changed this a while back. We also removed the disconnection fee, sign up fee and made a number of other changes. If you have any other feedback or questions about fees etc. then please shoot them through!
Ian
I could not be bothered opening the link.
Who are they and what do they do?wow alot of negs - i made the right choice
Wouldn't open anyway because the OP put the incorrect link
vaya is a big NO
Vaya, bye ya for that $30 exit fee. Vaya vaya (bye ya bye ya) :)
Hi there,
There is no exit fee, so you can leave anytime you please and you won't be charged a fee.
Vaya. Nuff Said
Been with them for 2 months. No hassle porting. The plan I'm on is perfect for my needs and excellent value.
been with vaya for 3 years now, 18 bucks for $650 calls 1.5gb data.
me personally ive had no problems with vaya (im lucky?) but is there a better deal out there?
Save $14 for one month, then waste many hours of your life and prob >$20 trying to extricate yourself later - NO THANKS!
Many overcharging issues with vaya. Long whirlpool thread on them. Direct debit Bank dishonor fees for accounts that were never tapped
can i suggest we just ban vaya deals ?
Why? WE will have nothing to vote negative on…😀
Why people bother with Vaya. There are so many to choose from, and Vaya's history stinks.
Considering there is no long an exit fee
Unfortunately this isnt the only issue with Vaya, see all the comments.
Once bitten twice shy, multiple Bites….
And they continued the shenanigans for years.
They were masters at extracting money from customers and changing rules/fees, not delivering what they promised.
I guess your 2 months isnt long enough to find out.
The only way is they don't ask for any of my DC/CC details and purely on prepaid
Same happend to me, did not receive the sim in the post. but they have been charging my account, since they had my cc details.
Been with them for about 1.5 years and it has been great. Save a lot of $$$ with the 18$ plan.
Yep, 2 years now, $18 plan = no problems.
Haters gonna hate.
Hey, rep - maybe a lil reward for those that support and been loyal??
@wiz187
Haters gonna hate.
Easy to say when you haven't been bitten. All was good with a lot of customers until Vaya changed the playing field, or double deducted months of invoices and denied it, introduced a "security deposit" saying people were a credit risk even though they had been a customer for over 2 years and not missed a payment, deduction money from one's credit card ongoing for months after porting away, deleting people's comments on Facebook, etc etc etc…
Edit: oh, not to mention the people that had money deducted from their accounts even after removing their credit card details.
Have a look at some review sites and Whirlpool and see why people are hating.
Good luck to you when you try and leave.
Do yourself a favor and Stay away from this telco.
Unquestionably the worst company I have ever dealt with. Multiple problems over such simple things. Avoid!!
Would never use vaya again. Especially with the Telstra MX 40 dollar plan.
Never again!!!
Vaya still owns me money. Not willing to pay. pro rata as if they honor that.
http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/phones/sim-only?dclid=CL…
same network but get 10gb $40
unlimited everything and 300 min international calls and unlimited sms/mms to selected countries too
i got the 15gb $50 last month with 500 mins calls to selected oversea countries…..hard to fault
Vaya… Once bitten, shy for life.
Y ozbargainers still UPVOTE for this Tele company as my understanding not to trust at all
If it makes any difference, you get a $5 credit with a facebook sign-up so it's makes it a credit of $1, there is an option to remove the direct debit once you have signed up through the website. Assuming you don't get stung with the direct debit later you get first month for free,
there is an option to remove the direct debit once you have signed up through the website.
…Which they still keep on file and keep charging you until you get intervention from the TIO.
They still owe me around $60 after 2 years.
and now it seems the StoreRep has disappeared! Strange…..
I mean if you had saved more than $60 over the 2 years period compared with other telcos, you are not losing money?! :)
That's some pretty funky logic you have going there.
Haha!! I guess i am just trying to say it in a very positive way.
I am a Vaya customer at the moment, i can't say i am happy with them, but definitely ok. I did get stung by their SIM card fee and plan change fee, but those are understandable (or somewhat) to me. You simply can't get all the things you want. Plus i don't change plan or replace sim card often.
Hi pal,
Sorry to read this. You can contact us and we will look into this https://www.vaya.net.au/?option=Contact%20Us. If you have any difficulties then just shout out.
Cheers, Ian
I better get onto them now before activating it to sort this out then, should have used the QFF CC to transact in the first place
Hello vays i was with you in the past the only thing i hated was being prorated in the first month which sucked because i couldn't enjoy it properly in the first month i could not make unlimited calls or texts or properly use the data
1000 new customers, that's ambitious. I guess there'd be 1000 people that haven't heard of them previously.
