Sanitarium Natural Peanut Butter $3 at Coles Save $1.46

151

Sanitarium Natural Peanut Butter for $3, about as cheap as it gets apart from the rare half price deal.

If you like an unsalted natural peanut butter, like I do, this is a good one.

Thanks to Maverick-au for an update. He contacted Sanitarium and they said

"We source the peanuts used for our Peanut Butter products from Nicaragua in Central America, we do not source any of our peanuts from China."

    Thanks OP!

I use these in my smoothies, but I much prefer and happy to pay the premium for the Macyvers range, for all my other peanut butter requirements

Sanitarium - isn't it founded by the seventh day Adventist Church?

No difference for mme between this and halal certified.

Sanitarium don't pay company tax on their profits due to their ownership by a religious organisation, which is unfair. The profits go to the Seventh Day Adventist church

I don't buy any Sanitarium products because of this.

I would agree with your point if you had a valid beef with the actual organisation.

You only seem to disagree with the tax treatment of religious organisations, if so, there are much bigger issues than the ownership of Sanitarium by the Seventh Day Adventist church in this area.

I have no problems with religious organisations getting favourable tax treatment. They do more good than harm.

You're probably getting negged because no one is going to 'defend' peanut butter and Weet Bix, unlike an phone product or something 😂🎣

        • @Tal_Shiar:

          LOL, maybe.

I remember, a long long long time ago, being told by a Catholic Nun in primary school not to buy Sanitarium products as the organisation was "evil".

Since she also used to cane me occasionally, naturally I was not convinced by her morality.

Isn't this rehashed every time. Hope you don't use Apple, Google, who pay minimal tax etc, etc…

Yet you use Citibank who offshore their profits and staff and UBER who avoid taxes and offshore their profits.

You're very selective about your causes. At least Sanitarium source many ingredients locally, employee locals with reasonable wages and they manufacturer many items locally. How many people pay tax and spend money thanks to Sanitarium?

If they operate in this country then they should pay tax just like any other local company

Do you pay extra taxes or do you pay the minimum?
Do you order from overseas and avoid GST on goods under $1000 or do you send the ATO a cheque for 10% each time?

Our country signed agreements on international tax laws but they complain when it doesn't suit them but what would you do as a company or individual? Minimise your tax legally or pay a heap extra for no reason?

Any why do you boycott one company whilst giving a lot more money to companies that don't even put anything back into the local economy?

      • Seems like Mr Kellogg was also a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church… slowly being converted with every breakfast I eat

I like Mayvers and Pics. Both use Aussie peanuts which I like. I stock up on sales. I like salted peanut butter though!

    • I am a late convert to peanut butter, I always tried the normal junk PB from the fridge, yuck.

I then tried this PB straight from the jar at room temperature, a whole different ball game. I got used to salt free. I tried Mayvers and Pics but I hate the salt taste. Plus they are priced at a huge premium, massive.

  • Are these suitable for pets? Dogs?
