Magimix or Something Else

hi

I am in the market for a food processor type gadget that will allow me to
1. chop and shred veges in different thickness (Couple blades for chopping and couple for shredding are enough)
+
2. knead dough

nice to have features would be -
3. ground coffee / nuts to make almond meal
4. liquidise stuff so i can rid of my nutribullet (save space)

I was considering the magimix 3200 compact and wanted your views on that or recommendations for another gadget please.

Is magimix really worth the $$?

thanks

After having to throw out a succession of breville appliances I bought a magimix and it has ticked along really well for the last 10 years without an issue. They have a 30 year warranty on the motors now. I don't use it for a number of the things you have highlighted here but it is great for chopping up vegetables, mixing pancake batters, etc. It is OK for making smoothies, but it doesn't "liquidise" like a blender, we would end up with small bits of bananas in our smoothies rather than a homogenous mix; however, it is good for blending soup and is not difficult to clean. It is also easy to get the processed food out of the bowl, which is something a lot of blenders can have trouble with. I have a Vitamix, as well as my magimix, which blends very well, but with something that is thick it can be hard to get everything out of the bottom where the blades are. If you do want it, I would look up the magimix site and see if they say it will do all you want it to do. Talk to the people at the shop where you are buying it from and tell them what you want it for and ask them if it will do these things. If they say "yes", then buy the machine and if you aren't happy with the result then take it back and say it doesn't work properly. All I can say is it was worth the money to me.
