Digital TV Signal Boster

Dear all
So I have a bit of problem. TV at home is not near the TV antenna socket. There is an antenna on the roof but we are not using it. Cannot and do not want to move the TV. I have an indoor antenna connected to TV but the singalong strength is jot that great. So I was wondering:
1- if there is a strength booster available. I can see there are plenty in the market but which one is the one to buy?
2- if there is a pair of device that I can connect to the wall antenna socket what I have transmits signals to device attached to TV?

Help!

Never seen a signal booster than made a real difference.

As far as I know, indoor antennas never give a perfect signal unless you live quite close to the transmission tower. Check that here:

Since you already have an antenna on the roof, it's not especially hard or expensive to get up into the roof and run another antenna cable from your antenna to where your TV is now. Probably less than $50 if you DIY, including cable, splitter, and wall port (from Bunnings or ebay). For many homes, this is your only option for a reliable signal.

    • Thanks mgowen. I had a guy check to do a quote and it was closer to about $800 so roughly another TV :(
Not so much of a DIY person myself especially to do with buildings etc..

      • Yeah, $750 of that $800 is for climbing around in your roof and fiddling with stuff for a couple of hours. If that's your day job for 40 hours a week it gets pretty tiresome.

But doing it yourself, just the once, is kind of fun, IMO. Especially when you know it's saving you hundreds of dollars.

Once you realise how easy it is, you suddenly find yourself wiring up surround speakers and HDMI and network cables everywhere…

  • where in bris are you? what sort of house are you in? brick ? timber? how far is the existing wall socket from the TV

    • I'm on northern suburbs . It's a townhouse. Double storey. Existing one is about 6 meters but running a cable outside the wall will look real bad

do you own the town house? do you have carpet or floor boards?

I put a new aerial point in my sons room last week got everything i need from Bunnings

Quad Coaxial Antenna Cable 80c per meter 10 Meters $8.00
    Twist-On F-Connector - 10 Pack $6.95
    F Connector Wall Plate $7.29

already had a splitter under the house.

    Total $22.24

took about 10 minutes from start to finish through a plaster wall and under the house.
and i am not a DIY person myself but was pretty simple.
