Where's The Coolest Night Life in Los Angeles

Hey guys,

I'm heading up to LA then Vegas in Jan for a mates bucks night, there's gonna be around 10 of us and I want to know peoples suggestions and recommendations. Travel advise gets dated real fast on the internet.

We're all mostly yuppie wankers and would appreciate staying in generic cool places etc etc.
