    You can open up those external drives and use them in desktop/laptop PCs.
    (Or in a PS4, like I have done)

        Yeah, I just meant it in the context of "this won't work", as that was wrong.

        However, for anyone reading, be careful of WD drives which can be opened up… however the USB-SATA connector is fused in, which prevents you to use them in desktops/laptops. Unlike the Samsung/Seagate drives which can easily be removed or serviced.

        I didn't say that, however I'm guessing that's how it was interpreted…? What I meant was that my suggestion is not what OP was after.. Thanks for the additional info though, it may change what OP might go after :)
