Hi ozbargainers,
I'm looking for economical travel options during Christmas period. It's going to be the first time for me and my partner to spend a few days together kids free. I'd like to have a short trip somewhere not too far away. I know traveling during Christmas is more expensive than usual, so I'm looking for relatively affordable options. We live in South Brisbane, and we go to Gold coast a lot with kids or visiting friends, so I don't think we'll go there again during Christmas.
Do you have any suggestion? Thanks in advance!
Sunshine Coast? Also consider the Sunshine Coast hinterland: Maleny, Montville and Mapleton. Lots of secluded accommodation there in tranquil surroundings, and still only a short drive down to the beaches.
At Christmas time accommodation will be expensive and it will likely be cheaper to drive than to fly.
You may also want to visit Byron/Ballina but it's not exactly in QLD.
