5 year warranty on the $49.99 mixer taps.
3 year warranty on the $99.99 mixer tap.
Similar styles are more expensive at Bunnings.
Starts Saturday 22nd October
I couldn't link to Catalogue.au for some reason so here it is.

It looks virtually the same at Bunnings for $94.00.
Yeah when I renovated I picked up taps on ebay for 45 bucks (at auction) that were 119 at bunnings. Total rip
The goose neck isn't a pull-out. (Just in case someone reads this and thinks you are talking about the tap in the top right)
;-)
Yeah I was actually thinking of the square tap, looks like it has a seam that wouldn't be there if it wasn't pull out
5 year warranty when the premium is only has 3. Not so premium I guess
Yeah that's crazy, so pay $50.00 less and get 2 year extra warranty, lol.
How much would it cost to get one of these installed? I don't think I can do mine myself. It's too hard to access
It will most likely be a little fiddly, but it's not difficult to do. HOWEVER, if you do self-install, it voids the warranty.
I don't think Aldi work that way in regards to the warranty. From past experience regardless of the item if you just put it back in the box it came in and take it back to the store with the receipt they will give you a refund.
I may be wrong though if it's 3 years down the track, will check when I buy one & report back.
60 days return and refund. After that you deal with an outsourced warranty service that is also really good. The couple of times I had to make a claim it was either a replacement and I got to keep the broken item or a full refund 2 years into warranty because they couldn't provide a replacement. The latter was a washing machine!
I don't know not actually have the tools to do this, so would like to know if it's worth while considering the cost of installation.
If you have an smallish adjustable wrench you'll be set.
@Online Bathroomware: like I said, the current setting is hard to access. The sink is real close to the tap so it's hard to get a wrench near it. Would prefer to have a plumber do it instead. So… Anyone here could give me a rough idea the cost of installing one of these?
@aaronbaron: there are many tools that can reach tight places. probably best to take a pic and go to the tool shop and ask. Lot cheaper than hiring a tradie and you can keep the tool.
@totsydeal: really appreciate all the helpful suggestions, but it will still be great to just get a ball park figure of how much a plumber will cost for a job like this.
@aaronbaron:
I would expect in the range of $150-200 for the first hour for a call out from a licensed plumber. It should take less than an hour to do
@cytotoxic: wow, that is a lot. Thanks.
…which is why people are suggesting you try and do it yourself. A specialty tool (if required) shouldn't cost more than $60-80 and you'll have it for another time or to lend to friends
I bought this for my mixer tap which is in a hard to reach spot. Took me a while to get the spanner in to correct spot (as you're basically flying blind) but once I got it in place, it was a piece of cake to undo the current tap and replace it with a new one. The spanner came in handy later on when the tap started to come loose (from constantly moving it back and forth between the dual sinks). Well worth the money. Was around $30 at Bunnings.
@karnage1020: oh wow cool. Will definitely look into it.
@OzBragain: a plumber tube spanner could help for tight spaces. Found cheap hardware store/dear shop had it for $8 for a set. Otherwise airtasker might have someone do it cheaper if you still can't be bother doing it yourself. This is assuming you already have a mixer.
Last time these were at Aldi the Chadstone store had only a total 3 of each tap style to sell and they had all sold in minutes so you may have to be a bit lucky to get one. I was a bit annoyed they had a so few. I could take them to ACCC for not having a "merchantible quantity". Instead I got a good one at Bunnings for $60.
That goose neck pull out tap for 49 bucks is a bargain. Considering bunnings cheapest pull out tap last time I saw one was over 100 bucks.
