Subscribe/Alert for Products

Hi guys,

I know this request has already been rejected but since the original thread:

is Closed I thought I'd start a new thread to let the devs know why it's such a desirable feature.

For example I've subscribed to a search for "iPhone" because I want to know about deals for iPhones. But in the short space of time I've been flooded with deals for iPhone apps & cases. It's not a very efficient method for the end-user.

    How do you propose such a feature to work if its not triggered by keywords as it currently is?

      I thought it would be triggered if someone allocates a deal to a product.

      If I subscribed to the iPhone 7 product on this page:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/iphone-7
      I would get an email anytime there was a new deal on that page only.

        Get IFTT to email you when the rss feeds updates.

          It would still be a hundred times easier to click on a Subscribe button though.

        That would be ideal and it has been discussed in the past. Unfortunately it's not possible as subscriptions (eg store subscriptions) are triggered when deals are posted, however most deals deals don't have product tags added by the posters when they are submitted (moderators or power users add them later).

          Some would think it's better than nothing. If this was implemented I'm sure more posters would take the time to tag products.
