College Football Game Tickets New York City/USA

Hi All,

Bit unsure on how to go about this so seeking advice.

Looking to go to a college football game on the last two weeks of December in New York City.

I do not know any teams or frankly anything besides the basic rules, just want to go for the experience.

Where would be the best place to source tickets and are there any teams you would recommend looking for?

Thanks,

Phil

when i went to the States last year i was able to grab tickets pretty cheap using Stubhub.com. You would need to check if it is still competitive but essentially it is a re-sale website for people not using their tickets. I was able to get seats to both NBA and Ice Hockey in Brooklyn for $30US each. The tickets gradually get cheaper as it gets closer to game day - i got mine 2 days before. Then they get sent to you digitally.

    • I've been using Stubhub for NBA tickets, seems the prices vary depending on teams/games, so far I've purchased tickets for pacers @ knicks which was expensive tix starting at $88USD, whereas grizzlies @ lakers were about $40each (lakers sucks though).

      • i fell asleep watching the lakers play

    100% Stubhub.

Now to choose which game to go to…

There are actually 3 college teams in NYC except they are all rubbish.

Need to focus on Division 1 FBS teams….

There are 3 teams in New York state. Buffalo and Syracuse are right up near the Canadian border though. Army's home stadium is about an hour north of NYC. Supposedly, the stadium is pretty sweet stadium and have some cool traditions (eg massive American flag at halftime). However the tailgating may not be as wild as other college teams.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights are based in New Jersey and are also about an hour away (although they just got pounded by Michigan 78-0).

Are you there December 28? If so- you are in luck.
Pinstripe Bowl is on at Yankee Stadium. Big college teams such as Notre Dame, Duke and Penn State have won the last 3 seasons.

    • Yep I've used Stubhub for NBA tickets.

And yes I will be there December 28, I think I'll look into that thanks.

NY has two NFL teams (Jets + Giants) who play at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It's a short trip and there are dedicated bus services on game days (~30 mins on the bus from midtown). I got a ticket to see the NY Jets play in 2013 in some nosebleed seats for about $50 each. If you don't have transport it might be easier to do this than try to get to a college game. Also the stadium is open air and when I went in October it was freezing so dress warm if you decide to go.
