Not bad. Got mine for ~$250 with a blower kit last year I think it was.

  • +1

That is cheap. Paid $279 with the vacuum kit 3 years ago.

does this mulch and have metal blades?.

    • -1

      It's a blower, not a sucker.

      • Comes with a free vacuum kit…

        • Yeah i missed that i was just looking at blower. You got me there. In that case ignore what i said.

According to this product page (UK web site but seems to be exactly the same Vac attachment model). The Vac attachment seems to be indeed a mulcher. Says it's a vacuum shredder conversion kit.

          https://www.mowers-online.co.uk/Lawn-Care---Garden-Care/Leaf…

    • It has metal blades which bolt into the air intake. Not the best mulcher but gets the job done.

    • This does mulch. However, it comes with heavy duty plastic blades. The BG 86 comes with metal blades.

    Excellent Price.

  • Looking for something to clean up the sand the kids leave on the floor of the patio - would this vacuum kit work for that, or is it more for larger objects like leaves/grass?

    • It should do the job. This really sucks big time.

    • I personally wouldn't use this to vac up sand. Better suited for leaves and grass etc.

      • What would be good for sand and dust do you think?

        • The small Ryobi rechargeable is great for sand. It has a small nozzle so lots of pressure

        • @jv: is that just a
          blower

        • @lukeloop:

          Yep

        • +1

broom and shovel usually works for cleaning up sand

        • @cornbeef:

It wont get all the grains though, like a blower does…

  • Any chance on deal on STIHL MS 170 MINI BOSS™ CHAINSAW??

  • How reliable is this?

    • +3

3 years worth of abuse and haven't even been serviced once. Then again total operation time ~50 hours at most?

It sounded like it's pinging its tits off half the time though despite running correct fuel mixture.

  • i was considering the husky bv125vx as it comes with all the attachments as standard including narrow nossle, but at $219 this seems very affordable for brand name unti with spare parts support and they are including the vac kit.

  • What's the warranty on these and can you take it to any Stihl authorised repairer for warranty repairs?

    • 2 year warranty.

Australian store, should be Australian stock. So i'd say it would be accepted to any authorised Stihl repair centre in Australia.

      • Other dealers don't like repairing items they have not sold, be warned!

        • -1

If they are an authorised Stihl repair centre, then they have to they've got no choice. Otherwise it would void their agreement with the manufacturer. I guess they could lose their license with the manufacturer if they find out.

Otherwise you couldn't be able to move interstate or to another city and get your product repaired there.

        • @hollykryten:

Yes, they agree to do warranty work for items not sold by them, BUT you can rest assured you will be at the end of the long "Q" and a bit more, all in the name of a bit of sport!

Own customers and paying customers first!

Of course if you want to pay then normal transmission will resume :-)

        • -1

          @8200: what rubbish.

They get paid to do the repairs by the manufacturer.

        • @jv:

So you run a power equipment dealership too?

Lets see, Stihl/Victa/Honda etc pay $60/hr [at there time calculations, NOT real world] to do warranty work, where i can charge $95/hr retail to the public, you will LOSE MONEY doing warranty work.PERIOD.

Gee can i phone a friend which one i would prefer to do??

When you own a power equipment dealership we will take notice of what you have got to say….

        • @8200:

where i can charge $95/hr retail to the public

Why are you ripping off the public?

        • @8200:

where i can charge $95/hr retail to the public

Almost $200K per year for repairing blowers.

No wonder you dropped out of Medical school…

        • @jv:

LOL, sick humans, sick blower/mower etc, same/same :-)

No, i am no longer moonlighting in that field

Its ok for a plumber and sparky to charge $120/hr though?

        • @8200:

Its ok for a plumber and sparky to charge $120/hr though?

When we renovated a couple of years back, we paid around $250 per day for both our plumber and sparky…

    • It has a two-year warranty, yes you can take it to any authorised Stihl repairer for repairs.

      • Can you do it for $199?

  • Get a 4 stroke. Last you forever

  • +2

Be careful here, Stihl [Honda and Husqvarna too] do NOT allow dealers to sell goods in the box and transported out of the dealers store, they insist that customers buy the product put together, fueled and the customer given instructions, tips etc all done in-store only.

This dealer will get pinged, up to and including his dealership losing the Stihl franchise.

    Just saying

PS. The best blower on the market is Echo and lots of great feedback now on the Aussie Made! Atom brand one

    • Is this true or is this comment from a competitor?

      • I would say i was correct,,,,, AGAIN!

This deal has need nuked, maybe Stihl AUS stepped in?

  • +1

Excellent price, excellent dealer. I got a Bosch brand vacuum cleaner from this people, couldn't be happier. two days delivery to Gold Coast. I wish I didn't but from Master hew weeks ago.

    • +1

      Thank you for you feedback.

    • I wish I didn't but from Master hew weeks ago.

Since when did Masters sell Stihl ?

  • Does Supergriptools does Stihl servicing?

    • Does Supergriptools does do Stihl servicing?

      fixed

    • Yes, if you want a dealership you must do service and stock some spares

Its why Bunnings will never sell Stihl

Any recommendations for an electric blower? Just need it for my SUV. Was thinking of getting either the Ozito ($59), Sthil ($129-ish)or Makita ($129-ish) ones

  • Can the BG86 metal blades fit on this for mulching? If so for how much?
Read the plastic ones aren't that heavy duty so if any twigs or nuts gets sucked will chip the blades.

  • Got this, tried the vac once, saw so much shit on the blades afterwards. Haven't used it since (vac kit). In the time it takes to hook up the vac kit, would've cleaned up with a dust pan and brush.

That said, great price for a great blower.

  • Got one of these a few years back im a mowing contractor it stopped working after about 14 months never bothered to get it fixed. Bought an Echo starts easier and never had a problem with it.
