Preparing for my first trip to Japan next month and planning to use the TA-Q-Bin (Yamato) for delivering my suitcase between apartments.
Their limit according to their website is 160cm and 25kg. I recently bought a suitcase that measured up 161cm (just 1 cm over) but worried they may not want to accept it.
Anyone used this service before and if they were strict with their measurement?

i've previously used pelican and yamato. both good. 1 cm - you'll be fine. I had them collect a 180cm koto once.
Ah great, thanks for the reply guys! I was just avoiding the possibility of having to lug around the luggage between cities.
I have a question about this - can it be used for AirBnb's (i.e. private residences)?
I have searched on this too. It can, but you have to be there to receive it (or at pickup, be there for pickup). You can try ask the host to accept it, but it means the host have to wait for it.. which I dont think will be something most host would do.
What I'm planning is I will drop off at the closest drop off point (which I have researched closest to my airbnb apartment) - this is to avoid waiting for the courier to pick it up. Then I can nominate the 2 hour time period for when they are going to drop it off at next destination (the time slots are available on their website).
If you missed it, you can ask for redelivery.

Yeah, I've already look at my schedule and plan for the 2 hr window time. I just have to try to get to the train on time haha
I have to drop the luggage the morning before as its next day delivery. So I plan to carry small ones for use until the rest of the luggage arrives the day after
You'll be fine. I've used Yamato many times with a bigger suitcase and never had a problem. Don't worry about it. Have fun =)
