For the beginners who don't know much about the game other than its an ozbargain favourite…..is there a single player option?
yes you can play with bots with difficulty settings from noob to advanced
for $0.20 this app is ok, but for full price it's not worth it as the single player mode is broken.
the ai constantly cheats, if you pick good spots and start the win the game, the dice never rolls your numbers even though they may be 6 and 8 and will start rolling weird stuff like 2 or 12. also the players gang up on you and always put the robber on your tiles. if you put the robber back on theirs, they will roll a 7 pretty much immediately and back it goes on one of yours
Is there proof of this? Is there an option to manually roll and input the dice rolls?
I see these bs accusations all the time on backgammon games, a particularly good example where the best plays make it seem as if the dice is is one's favour.
that's if you play backgammon in real life, this is an app; it's virtual.
if you go to this app's page on the google play store, look at some of the negative reviews. they say pretty much the same thing.

This is a legendary boardgame. you can learn how to play.
Is this a good version? Is there an official version? I remember looking for it before and being unsure if it was faithful to the board game.

No idea about the pricing of each expansion though since I haven't bought nor downloaded the game yet.

how's the online multiplayer for this? can we play against friends?
I have the iOS version, which looks to be the same. The online multiplayer is good, you can play with friends but all need to be connected online (not just over wifi etc) and sometimes are issues in inviting one player to join. Otherwise works pretty well and you can play against strangers from wherever else.
Word of warning, though - you'll lose the game if you shut down / lose connection (somewhat expected), and others will have the option to boot you out if you take too long!
Have the physical Board Game version of this and it's a great game.

Pretty good app for a terrific board game. Works well on tablet for pass-and-play with your friends (if you have any)
