Buro Metro (I or II) Vs. Ergohuman Office Chair Recommendations?

Narrowed it down to each of the above. Living regionally hard to try both. Will try Buro this week, but Ergohuman hard to find a display store (anyone know of one in Canberra?).

Pros and cons for each of the chairs?

I've seen a Youtube clip of what looks like a faulty armrest and issues with the lumbar support? Is this a common issue?

I have an opportunity to get a used Buro for a good price or pay $530 for an Ergohuman (brand new) .
How do you rank each of them?

Thanks in advance.

  • I have the Ergohuman V1 with a leather seat and backrest. I find it slightly high to sit in as my bare feet don't fully touch flat on the ground, even after changing to smaller casters. The non-leather version may be slighty lower in height as it has no leather padding. I'm 1.73m tall.

Another thing I've noticed is that that the springy lumbar support digs too much into my back when slightly reclining and cannot be adjusted. I can also feel the hard plastic edge of the frame since the back is made from two separate pieces.

The chair is also heavier than other/cheaper office chairs and may take a bit of effort to move on thick carpet. There is also no seat angle tilt adjustment.

In my experience, I'm not all too keen on ergo chairs with lumbar support or without adjustible lumbar support. The reason being, it forces you to sit in an unusual position where your back is arched and belly sticking out. Maybe that's a reason why most automotive chairs have little to no lumbar support.
