First Car: Mazda SP23 or Maxx Sport? - Pros, Cons, Advice?

Hey guys

I'm in the market for a car. My main use will be general travel to and from work/uni.
Not looking to spend too much and am after an older 2nd-hand that will suffice and can last at least 3 years

I've narrowed it down to the Mazda SP23 or Maxx Sport - both 2005/06 versions of each respective model

Any experiences with either model that you can share? Pros, cons and things to watch out for?
Would greatly appreciate any advice given!

    Sold my Maxx Sport 2007 couple of weeks back. Had it since new, never skipped a beat. Although, buying old car you have to do your due diligence. Have a look at the service records for any unresolved issues. Maxx Sport had pretty decent equipment pack. My suggestion would be to save on SP23 and instead go for a later Maxx Sport. SP23 is a good car, but at that age of car you would probably require more reliability then Bose radio.

    I had a 2005 Mazda 3 Maxx Sport from new back in the day and loved it - dream car and never missed a beat. Always wondered about the SP23, but couldn't justify the premium back then. We also bought my wife a 2006 Mazda 3 Neo, which we sold a year later when kids came into the equation (needed more room).

    They were great cars, not sure how they are travelling these days at around 10 years old. Still see plenty around though. :) Good luck.
