@Strand0410:
It has all been a question of prioritization. When the market has not reacted positively to the innovation of MS, they have often pulled back to focus on other developments. It seems going forward the focus will be on the OS, rather than hardware (Which was originally the mainstay).
So yes Microsoft has not done its best, but the consumers have been slow to realize that Microsoft is the best innovator (pound for pound) in the OS market.
All the issues you have mentioned can easily be worked around (I use the phone every single day), so I know from a user experience that they do not hinder productivity. You just have to know your phone and how it works. Downloads can be easily restarted, and no my phone does not really slow down, even though I notice that apps are sometimes not appropriately tombstoned.
Consumers want to take the simplistic and ready-made route. I would rather place my bets on an OS that tries to push things to the next level, rather than an OS that is polished but very basic. With Windows I can have my experience exactly as I need it to be. Their focus is now tailored for enterprise users, but you will find that enterprise is probably synonymous with "Savvy"
I have used iOS, and I have used Android..for me MS is easily the most logical OS. Yes they make mistakes, I know all about those mistakes…but I believe in supporting the future rather than accepting a comfortable and mediocre present.
I hope you realize that Microsoft is barely even trying and they are still churning out groundbreaking tech! It doesn't take a genius to know that if consumers supported Microsoft, the experience would be like no other!
An OS with apparently 1% marketshare still launches developments such as continuum, UWP, 3D touch (although not released), camera tech on par with other flagships, arguably the best integration ever for PCs/Phones/Tablets etc and this is a struggling Microsoft?
