Hey Ozbargainers,
Just trying to decide between the S7 and S7 Edge. The Edge functions are largely a gimmick in my opinion, but the extra $100 in cost does buy you a bigger screen and a bigger battery (lasts at least 2-3 hours longer). Can anyone weigh in with their experience with these phones?

idk where you got 2-3 hours longer for a 600mah gain in battery that has to power the also larger screen.

I have s7 as the edge screen gets annoying well for the last 9 months i has a Galaxy s6 edge bought my s7 in the last 15% off ebay sale.
The S7 Edge just blew up.

I have the vanilla s7 and it is my preferred phone. Battery life is great- about 4-5hrs of on screen time. I used to have a 5.5 inch LG G4 which was too unwieldy for one handed use so I went out of my way to pick the S7 over the edge. I have had friends complain about the ergonomics ( sharp edges) of the edge and the usefulness of said edge feature- most turn it off due to it registering unintentional touches. S7 feels much nicer in the hand and is only marginally smaller anyway- but it's all personal choice really. Why not go to a phone store and try each out? Sometimes they have demo models you can pick up and have a feel of, that's what I did.

s7 edge for sure, that phone in your hands makes you feel powerful.
I did it for the battery and screen size, not going down in size from my old g3 (man that thing had awesome screen to body ratio, even compared to the s7 edge). Finding it less wieldy (they're both in cases) than the g3 due to the extra height.
I've had both, comes down to what's practical for you usage..
I found the S7 Edge a tad too big for my hands and sometimes I would refrain from using it single handed as I knew I would drop it .. i.e. thumb couldn't reach far end of screen.
