Australia Post - How Do I Package an Item for Return

Hey, so I bought a vacuum cleaner that I no longer want and would like to return it. The seller allows refunds for change of mind.

However I have never done a return before, and this package is too large for Aus post's prepared packages, so I'll likely have to package it myself. It's 24cm high, 39cm wide, 57 cm long and weighs 7KG. The site calculated postage @ roughly $30. I have the seller's address. I'm also not sure if it meets Aus Post's guidelines (max 0.25m^3) as I suck at math and google is telling me my parcel is 0.05m^3.

Does anyone know what an acceptable packaging would be? Could I just wrap it in a garbage bag, slap a sticker on it with an address and give it over to Aus post?

Auspost will accept the package with the info given

You can pack it any way you want, but if it's broken when received, you're buggered

Go to Bunnings and get a large cardboard box off their free box shelf

    • Reckon it's necessary if it's already in a box? They shipped it to me half wrapped in a garbage bag (seriously, half the box was exposed)

      • my bad - didn't realise you had the box

put it in a garbage bag (if you want) sticky tape the box up, put on a couple of address labels and send it

  • Did you pay with PayPal?

    • Yeah, just signed up for the free return thingy

  • How about using sendle?
