How to take voice control off iPhone 7

Does anyone have a idea on how to do this as I'm finding the home button very annoying that I press it hard enough then it goes to voice control

  • On 5s, it's under settings, siri and then enable

If you disable Siri there's no way to disable Voice Control. It's annoying. I've tried.

Is it really a hard press and not a long press? That's lame.

    Check in Settings > Accessability

  • I think if you follow the steps to add the headphone jack back in, the hardware will adjust to stop voice control.

Note must use Dr Dre's Applehammer'n'spike with added weights to avoid losing warranty. About $95 at Apple stores.

Couldnt you have just typed that into google?

    • Google doesn't have all the answers. It's not a common question either.

  • edit out dup

  • tape over the microphone.

    • Siri is full screen

Now that your problem has not been solved, because essentially Apple tells you how to use your phone. Wanting choice is punishable by having your icloud hacked.

I went back to my S7 Edge. Can someone tell me how to disable Google's voice help when you hold the home button down? Sometimes I feel like abusing my home button and I Don't want a new window to open.

    • Actually i got this as a gift from my husband
I'm not a apple freak to know what' the features are like

      • You don't have to be a freak. Just know that Apple is known for telling its users how to use their products instead of giving them choice. That simplifies a lot of things.

      • Does your husband use an ANdroid?

      • Your husband does not respect your intelligence buying you an Apple phone.
Ask him to exchange it for a phone with a decent screen, plenty of memory and a fast processor, there are plenty out there! And preferably one that you can swap the battery easily when it dies so it will last more than two years. I hate planned obsolescence in any consumer goods!!!

      A semi-solution:

I don't know how to turn it off, but if you go to Settings > Advanced Features > Galaxy Labs > Turn on "Quick Dial". This allows you to dial someone by saying their name after you hold the home button down.

Soz for hijacking your thread. Live long and prosper.

Settings> Turn Siri on then deselect Access on home screen

Doesn't remove it but reduces me bumping it all the time
