Should I Sign up to This Phone Plan?

Hey guys, i was going to swap from Vodafone to Jeenees $18 plan, so i decided to chat to Vodafone to see if they have anything to offer.
After negotiating for a bit they offered to add a 2GB ongoing bonus to the $22 sim only plan they have..
So what i would get is
Standard national calls: Infinite
Standard TXT in Australia and to overseas: Infinite
MMS / PXT : Infinite
Mobile data : 3GB (Unlimited Data for the 1st month)
$5 Roaming.
For $22/pm

Thoughts? Only thing that has me worried is its on a 24 month contract..
As its for the family (4 people) though its a lot easier than porting in/ out etc..
Have had no issues at all with Vodafones network either.
Cheers!

  • Wow, that's a good deal shapers. I'd personally go for it!

    • Just joined up :)

  • I am not one for plans but it's looks pretty solid, 3GB should be somewhat future proof at that price for the next year at least.

    • Yeah, the 24 month plan was a bit worrying but if i need more data etc i can change plans after 3 months without any fees they said :)

      • The problem is your never know how low the price could be for Telo market change within 24 months.

Optus used to have $60 for 8GB of data 2 month later reduce it to $50 then same price but increase to 10GB.

IMO I would not go for 24 months contract with Vodafone as their service is un predictable and even you think it is the best deal now may be just a month later other carrier get into the completion and you are locked in.

        • Yeah i completely agree, dont know whats going to happen within the next 2 years.
Though we all think it will be fine for us so guess we'll have to wait and see :)

        • @shapers:

If this is with Telstra I would support go for it, Vodafone is a concern as their network gone from good(pre 2000) to worst then better now but still the least favor Telo here.

        • @LoveBargain15: Yeah fair enough, honestly in my area i find vodafone to be more reliable. Especially when i head to the coast i dont get any reception with telstra whereas Voda i have a few bars

Seems like a good package, OP. How about international inclusions though?

    • Infinite texts to anywhere, no call minutes (though i have never really needed it anyway)

  • does anyone else think that vodafones SIM only plans are a bit ridiculous currently? My brothers 2 year iphone contract will be running out at the end of the year and if I am not notified they will continue charging $60p/m for his 'current plan'. i looked up the cheapest M2M plan for the convenience of not having to port over and its $35p/m for a 1.5gb plan…

  • Does Voda offer free Voda to Voda calls? That's a really good feature of the Aldi plans.

I'm looking for something on the Optus network similar to the Aldi M value pack. We've moved house and Optus has better coverage than Telstra at the new place.

Yep free voda to voda, this specific plan has free unlimited calls and texts to any carrier. Jeenee use optus, the deals they have are pretty good
