        • not a secret anymore!

      =/

Have you tried scrolling down the list when you click on the size option?

      • Only 6 and 6.5

Hmm, not negging but the Turnout isnt the best boot they do (the comfort craftsman is), and all sizes/colours can be had from here for a lower price than the sale price.

    • Wow how can they afford to discount that much as standard!? I'm gonna head to an RM Williams store to figure out sizing, then order a pair from this site. Thanks heaps

    • +1

I vouch for the comfort Craftsman - my daily boots for many years

      thanks for the linkage

Are these legit RMs? Why are they so much cheaper than RRP. Old styles or something?

    • Curious if these are also legit - someone order and report back!

    • They are legit, but the processing times are pretty horrendous at the moment, I'm sitting at 7 weeks now and still haven't got them (but they only took the money out of my account yesterday).

  • There are a few larger sizes in some shoes, you need to push the size and push up to rotate to the larger sizes.

  • Now some of RM Williams products made in China

    • +7

only some clothes, not their boots. Proudly South Australian!!!

  • Bam, black and chestnut turnout are gone. Serves me right for not impulse purchasing.

  • Too late :( good prices but none in my size or colour preference. Always wanted a pair of RM's.

    • fork out $370. They're worth every penny IMO. and I walk alot.

      • Does the sole on yours wear out quick? The orange on my comforts are pretty much completely scratched after about a month.

        • I have my comfort craftsman for 6 months now and they seem to be ok with wear and tear. Depend on how you define a lot though. I ride in these as well so so far they are already better than my Jeff Banks.

          @tomleonhart: Motorbike or horse?

        • @ihbh: motorbike. The reason I say it is because the Tarmac is very rough ! Therefore more wear and tear.

        • +7

          @tomleonhart: Doesn't your bike have brakes? :)

        • @danyool: It does. But pushing it into the garage + reversing into parking spot seems to take its toll on the sole :(

        • Ouch,

You should of asked for the non-slip rubber soles version

The ones you got look great for dressing up… but any time you walk on concrete they goto crap

2 pairs, 10 and 8 years still going strong.

When ever i get them repolished people think I've gotten new shoes

        • @Baghern:
Damn. Which ones are those? I got mine from DJ but I don't know if they distinguish between them.

        • +1

@ChillBro: There are 3 flavour to Craftsman. They are all the same at the top, the only difference is the sole:

          • Normal Craftsman which has leather sole (Did you get this?)
          • Dynamic Flex has leather + comfort sole
          • Comfort Craftsman has comfort sole, comfort sole is the most … comfortable and last the longer also apparently.
        • @tomleonhart:
Damn, I guess mine must be. DJ only seems to have 2 though. The second one seems to be both dynamic flex and comfort?

        • @ChillBro: Yeah the second one is dynamix flex.

The first one is normal craftsman.

  • Sold out already? Don't tell me…

For committed OzBargainers join the Army Reserve. Get issued RM Williams boots. Discharge. Net result free boots.

    • Reminds me when I did Work Experience at the Holden factory down at Fishermen's Bend and after the 5 days, I got to keep the Rossi boots, overalls and safety glasses I wore during that time.

    • +14

"Cadet, what motivated you in joining the Army Reserve?"
"ummm, do I give my feet size now or after the interview?"

    • +4

Correct, there is no obligation.. unless, of course, war were declared.

    • Even better spend 15 years in the regular Army and collect a kitbag full of alcoholic misogynistic hilarious memories and an extended family of associated Army mates. After you get out, ask one of those mates that is still in if he will go to the clothing store for you and pick you up a pair!

    • I'm surprised the Liberals havent sacked some local workers and purchased the boots from China. Give them time:

      http://www.news.com.au/national/south-australia/nick-xenopho…

      • They did, and then on Anzac Day a couple of years ago hundreds of troops were marching down main streets and the soles of their new dress shoes fell off. That's why they've gone to a decent brand.

  • There's no secret with the professionals!

  • there was like no stock to begin with :(

  • Btw, slightly off topic. But around the same price point, I have found Red Wing Iron Rangers to be quite comfortable. There's a huge fan following for those boots all over US as well.
    http://www.redwingshoes.com.au/heritage/8111-iron-ranger-amb…

    • AU$451.00 jebus….

      • Similar price to the listed RM William Craftsman. However, those Red Wing Iron Rangers are buy once, use forever types :)

        • True, both are a bit of an investment. Going by the comments here, the RM's need to be regularly re-soled, can't imagine that would be cheap either.

        • RMs last forever. I've got 3 pairs of varying vintages, wear one pair pretty much every day, still going strong.

        • @COR80:
          http://www.rmwilliams.com.au/boot-repair/Boot_Repair.html
If you're fitted for the correct size, the boots should last a while before they need any repair.

    Any work boots?

  • Just got an email. Sold out now.

  • +2

    What a joke of a sale…

  • (6324 clicks) and 31 votes.. Outsiders sigh.

Come join the OZB community and help, if you're going to reap the rewards of the sales!

  • Soon after purchasing I realised it said 'No exchanges or change of mind returns will be accepted'. Does this include sizing issues? So if the shoe doesnt really fit well there's nothing I can do?

    • if you got a size 9 in chestnut I'd take them off you ;)

  • Just when i ordered a pair of Baxters Broncos….

RM Williams got cleaned out anyways!

  • how does RM Williams stack up against guys like Oak Street Bootmakers and Chevalier? Would love an enthusiast to weigh in on this.
