I'm after a pair of headphones that won't stab you in the ear canal when you are sleeping to the side.
I currently use Xiaomi Pistons Gen2 and while they sound good, they are not comfortable to wear at all.
I stumbled on something like this after watching Unbox Therapy's video.. it's less than $9 dollars so my primary concerns would be the build quality, battery life to be questionable. Worth buying?
Anyways: ideas?
Was not much cheaper. Only by a dollar. However buying from Alie means I get slugged with a overseas transaction fee for my credit card, so it works out to be around the same price on feeBay
Two questions… one, do they have to be bluetooth? If not, wired will get rid of battery life concerns. Two, do you care about sound quality? If not, cheapest of the cheap earphones like these will do the trick, there is nothing that goes in the canal so it shouldn't stab you.
I saw these before and they seem to have the non ear canal design but will sit in your ears as it is wrapped around your whole ear.
sound quality not the biggest of concerns. I already own some high end stuff (Bose QC20's) but they are far too expensive for me to wear in bed — my tossing and turning will damage them.
I've already damaged a few of my cheaper earphones — they usually start failling in one earphone. I figured that going wireless means I won't end up tangling the cords at night.
Might be difficult to satisfy both bluetooth and not getting stab in the ears. Most newer earphones seem to be in canal earbuds and the non canal buds are non bluetooth.
With the limited range in Aus, you might have a difficult time to source them, perhaps give those headbands are try in the meantime?

Yay Unbox Therapy! :D I've purchased a couple these for around $5 each whilst they were on sale about a month ago. They are very light and fit perfectly (+ they come with different sized ear caps), I haven't had any discomfort with them as of yet and they sound decent too for the price. They come on sale every 3-4 weeks so give it shot? Or even get them when using the $25 voucher from TGG :)
Excellent. Been wanting something like this for ages and those Sleephones didn't look good value.
I sometimes fall asleep listening to music with headphones in for me, the apple earpods, or better still the old type earbuds work well. Doesn't protrude and isnt bulky like some other IEMs.
