    Can you claim warranty ?
    Price is so tempting :(

    • Link from last deal. It's under Warranty & Support - Product Warranty link of the page.

    • You could but you'd need to ship it back to Amazon at the USA.

      • +1

That's if you want Amazon to cover the cost

Could send to a local designated service centre at your own cost/risk

        • Are you sure that they do that?
I tried buying a Lenovo laptop in KL last year and the Lenovo guy told me I'll definitely not get any warranty in Australia.
I'd be surprised if that's different when buying from the US.

        • @MrTweek:
          https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/documents/pd004172

          Important Note:
The IWS service is supported for new THINK products announced and sold after September 11th, 2015.
The IWS service is NOT supported for new idea products announced and sold after February 28th, 2016, except for certain models only (ideapad Yoga 900 laptops and Lenovo Miix 700 tablets).
Smartphones and tablet products are NOT supported by the IWS service.

PCs sold prior to the dates mentioned above should refer to the previous IWS statement (version 2015).

        • Edit: Would seem IWS doesn't apply to Amazon purchase, So you would have to ship it back to USA for repair

    • +5

Lonovo International Warranty T&Cs ask for proof of YOU transported the laptop into Australia, ie. a copy of the passport stamp.

So no, no warranty through Lonovo.

      • i thought they no longer stamp your passport at immigration? doesnt you have to go through this machine thing?

        • Had it wrong, you need a US passport, see below.

      • Is there a link for this t&c or is it a myth ….. What happens to business users who are visiting …..you wouldn't have receipt from head office lol.

"Proof of Travel e.g. Passport with valid visa to or passport from country where product is purchased"

There you go. Since it was purchased from the US, you will need a US passport to claim warranty, or an Australian visa issued to a US resident.

        • @PainToad:

Bummer .. seems you'd have to ship it back to Amazon in USA for Warranty service

        • +1

          @PainToad:
My interpretation is slightly different : Australian passport with visa entry to the US prior to time of purchase not Austalian Visa on US passport.

        • @emwolf:

Australian passport with visa entry to the US prior to time of purchase

That would make sense, to prove you purchased the device in the US then brought it back to AU, except the 'proof of purchase' (also a requirement) would have a AU postal address.

Anyway, irrelevant, this device doesn't have IWS no matter what, see here: https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/documents/pd004172

    Price is up: US$695.96

    • +2

      Still showing $493.

    • +3

Shows $469.99 (without postage) for me right now.

$695 is if you buy it from a seller other than Amazon themselves. Choose Amazon as the seller and you'll see the cheaper price.

  • +7

    THANKS! GOT ONE!@!@1!

  • +6

Great price. It has everything I need but the weight killed it. 1.73kg.. gosh

    • Same. I'm benchmarking against my MacBook Air.
      1.3kg 17mm once I see that - I will pounce!!

    • +6

1.7kg is so light. Are you a lifeless skeleton or something?

I carry a 2.5kg workstation around at work. Boo hoo

      • +16

Yeah, do you even Lonovo bro?

    • Get a Dell XPS 13, then, it is 1.3kg, but more expensive.

      • +1

Bought my partner one of these, brilliant machine.
Much better built and quaility. But this is better value.

        • Check hp specture x2 its also cheap

    • The right shift key is so small and in such awkward spot behind the arrow key. Bad design. That would get really frustrating!

  • LOL at product stock status. It's now sold out of stock.

Usually ships within 1 to 2 months.
Ships from and sold by Amazon.com. Gift-wrap available.

    • For that price I'm willing to wait, my order quoted 30th Oct for delivery.

      • Yeah that quote is for over a month away.

        • +1

          What's the rush? 😕

        • +1

          @nocure:

No rush if you don't mind waiting.

      • Do thet debit your card straight away or when it gets delivered?

    • Anyone use the gift wrap service?

  • +1

Tempted to pull the trigger but some of the issues on the Lenovo site have me worried http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/flex-series/flex…

    • Charging issue a lot of people have where it just stops charging
    • screen shuts off and no matter what they do it doesn't turn back on
    • Not anti glare.

Anyone have one of these and can offer some advice whether these problems are common?

    • -8

In any case it's out of stock now so you're a bit late to pull the trigger unless you want perhaps a rather lengthy backorder.

      • -4

Don't know why my comment was negged so much i was just saying it's now out of stock and there will be a lengthy backorder involved if you don't mind waiting. Is a really good price.

      • +1

Perhaps because your comment didn't address the topics in the post you replied to?

        • Oh yeah come to think of it.

Well i can supply a few reviews of this exact same laptop. May give a few ideas of what the laptop is like. They don't show any problems with screen glare though, power charge issues or screen shutting off. In fact one of the reviews claims that it has an anti glare IPS screen so i don't know how worthy1 came to the conclusion that it was not anti glare since that is incorrect. So i really don't know how worthy1 came to those conclusions of any of those sort of problems. I think perhaps he/she was looking at the wrong laptop model.

          http://techforpennies.com/lenovo-flex-4-80sa0004us-laptop-re…

None of the customer reviews on Amazon show any of these issues either.

          https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Flex-2-1-80SA0004US/product-re…

        • @hollykryten:
I came to the conclusion from the link I supplied direct tot he product on the Lenovo website.

          Happy if its antiglare.

        • +1

          @worthy1:

It is has a 14" anti glare IPS screen (matte) so that conclusion which you came to about not being anti glare isn't right. So you can rule that one out at least.

        • @hollykryten:
Yes the link was to a review that mentions that the specs say its anti glare but its really not

  • says ships within 1-2 months. anyone who purchased confirm delivery time?

    • +1

nocure above was given a delivery time frame of 30 October 2016.

    • Yeh that is the range they give you. Mine says delivered between 28th Oct and 28th Nov

  • +1

Doh. I have a search alert for 256gb SSD, how come when ever it turns up it's in a laptop…

  • thinkpad yoga?

  • +5

No clit mouse? It's not a Lenovo!

    • +1

I believe you wanna say "Thinkpad"?

    • +3

Now WTF would a clit mouse be? No male would be able to find it right? :)

      • Not sure of its official name, it's a little protruding lump situated in the middle of the keyboard where you use a finger to control the mouse pointer. A remnant from the old IBM laptop. So if you've ever played with a clit you pretty much know how to play with this miniaturised joystick

        • It's a trackpoint.

        • @Joe888:
That's the one, was a nifty feature before the invention of the touch pad, now it's pretty much redundant, especially on a touch screen

  • +1

    What's the battery life like?

  • Delivery : Usually ships within 1 to 2 months. Should I wait that long?

And after adding to the cart, does not allow shipping to Australia.
Some of the items in your order cannot be shipped to the selected address. Please select a new address to see your estimated order total.

    • That was the dilemma I had, I know between now and then more great deals will come up but then I realised even if I get it within a week more deals will come up. There will always be deals.

Ive never owned a 14" and do photo editing and web design a bit so im hoping I don't miss the extra 1.6" too much. Just seems like good specs for the price so I bought.

Mine didn't say anything about not shipping to Aus, at least not that I read and I would assume it wouldn't allow me to go through with the order if that was the case

  • The warranty is definitely a big concern.

    • +1

Not if you talk to EC about Amazon's handling of his Warranty claims /:

Even our benevolent Dictator Scotty has a positive Amazon warranty return story
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223413

      • +1

I have not read to be honest that amazon will provide 1 year warranty on behalf of manufacturer as claimed by few members have claimed. When I bought an electronic item from amazon, it stated 30 days DOA returns from amazon.

Has someone sent something back to amazon after say 8-10 months?
Consumer grade laptops/tablets from lenovo or dell do not have international warranties.

  • Wait, so the screen doesnt bend all the way back…..not sure what the fuss is about

  • +2

In and out of mobile black spot and see this. Whyyyyy did I have to go on Ozb today?

    • +1

Coz no one can resist Good Bargain in OZB

  • Ridiculous price!

    • -2

With ridiculous build quality and service. You do get what you paid for.

  • is this touchscreen?

    • +1

      Yes 😀

  • FYI

4gb ram, 500gb hdd version, 4th gen cpu and lower res screen can be found here @ USD$349.99 and opened box @ USD$321.99

    • -1

I wont recommend that for HDD and resolution alone. 6ht Gen CPU will be a plus as well compared to 4th gen CPU. No brainer to take this over what OP posted.

    • website link?

  • +1

For those thinking about buying, Lenovo local Aus warranty service is the worst compare to Dell, HP etc…so I wouldn't even consider buying through Amazon
Speaking from experience as I work for a IT company.

    • Can't beat HP with warranty when it comes to having a part and tech onsite within 4 hours ;)

  • Does the laptop come with a US charger?

  • +1

Keyboard picture - note the tiny right shift key mentioned in a couple of Amazon reviews, and the L-shaped enter key extending into the backslash key position if the Amazon image reflects the actual product.

There was a similarly good deal here from Amazon on a Yoga 700 a few months back I bought into, but it had its own maddening keyboard issues, and in hindsight, I'd much rather have paid more something that didn't.

  • +1

    Nice price, thanks OP! :)

  • Seems like the sale has ended

  • Very long wait on the back order, I'd be interested hearing if anyone's arrived yet/had shipped

    • I noticed the money had finally been held today. Jumped on Amazon and it says due to ship today with an ETA of 3rd November. Had been waiting for a 15"+ better deal to popup during the time as can cancel before its shipped but nothing good really popped up or if it did it was expensive and made me glad I snagged this for $650

Did you order one or something? it was known there was a backorder of that long in the thread.

      • I landed the back order, shipped today too. must have been waiting for me to post here.

        • Mine is Preparing for Shipment, should get it before end of this month.

        • Mine was shipped yesterday and reckons it'll be here Tuesday Oct 25th (Perth).
Seems strangely quick delivery time from when it was marked as shipped…. especially considering others here were sent a day before mine and arriving a week later?

  • Mine arrived today.
It comes with the little square adapter, but obviously for US.

Does anyone have a link to one for AU?
Kinda want to get this same style small square one, rather than the larger rectangular ones.

    • The plug that goes into the laptop, round or square?

      • The plug that goes into the laptop is a skinny round connector.

And the charger is all in one piece, so you can't separate any parts and replace them with AU ones like you would normally.

The power brick itself is a little square, handy for carrying around, but it's got the 2 straight prongs for US.

I'm guessing this was never released over here because I haven't found a single direct replacement yet.
But I'm hoping this laptop shares it's charger with another laptop or tablet so maybe we can look into one of those.

        • Was expecting this from the pictures, ah well, us adapter for at home and a spare for travel it is then.

        • @mackaxx: Yeah that's my plan too but I'm struggling to find one that will do the job as a spare.
Hoping someone else has had some luck.

        • Has anyone found a power cable that goes from us to aud?

It doesn't need to be very long but it would be much nicer than having a travel adapter permanently attached.

I have had a look through ebay but couldn't find anything…

        • @LuckyLuke: if you look at the power brick it looks like those prongs are changeable, I haven't tried hard to get them out but there may be a way to get aud ones. We are getting an extra charger anyway for work as well as home so won't bother.

        • @mackaxx: I had a look at that too when I got it but it's not budging… I don't think they're intended to come off.

You say you're getting an extra charger anyway … but that's exactly what we're looking for as well.
And because this doesn't look to have been released here, finding an AU charger is proving awkward.

        • +1

Mine arrived to. I'm currently using an adapter but it is known as the Lenovo Yoga 510 here so you should be able to search for a charger for one of those. Think Ebay has them although they weren't a brick so not sure how genuine they are.

        • @worthy1: Thanks - didn't realise it was called that. I'll have a look!

  • Marked as shipped 24/10 and my account charged, just got a refund today 26/10 with no reason given. Why even charge my account if your not going to ship it?

Now down $21.31 due to the changing exchange rate and international card fee's, good work Amazon. Bunch of monkey's.

    • Amazon came good in the end and refunded $18 USD which more than covered the $21.31 AUD.

Still a bunch of monkey's for marking an out of stock item as shipped and charging a card, then refunding it two day's later..

  • Received Mine. Exceptional value for features, however I would be keen to see if anyone else has had any defects with theirs. For example, my top left corner has light bleed about 2-3inches wide on dark background. In the centre of the bleed is black again, but almost cylindrical in nature. It would appear like the screen outer casing was fastened too tightly in this section. Everything else works fine but this little defect is going to annoy me. FYI, Amazon will only reimburse $15US for return postage of this item. So now its left up to me to find a competitive freight company to send it back. Any suggestions for that too, would be appreciated.

    • I've a tiny bit of bleed too on mine, similar positioning about a third of the way in from the top left of the screen.
Fairly minor… personally, it's definitely not worth the hassle of sending back to the US…

As you said, might just be a clip or screw that's too tight, pinching the screen a tad - might be handier to just take the bezel off and take a look yourself.

  • +1

Havent had any issues with mine or bleed. The keyboard shift key issue everyone was talking about is annoying so what I did was get a software that could change the key mapping (few out there) and then I actually popped each key off and swapped it, so now it is in the right spot with both function and looks :)

Great laptop and glad I made the choice to jump at it especially for the price. Never had a 2 in 1 before and it has already come in handy as a laptop, tablet and tented to watch things.
