  • Didn't realise they launched in Australia. Have heard a lot of good things about them from their American franchise.

They are very popular in America. Heaps of deals from MyProtein on slickdeals that reach front page

      • Holy crap they have a TON of flavours

        • yesss … i stocked up on 10kg of protein as per post description

          Better value than ON where the 4.5kg is ~ $130 - $150

        • @easternculture: very tempted to buy, will have to research what the best flavours are.

      • Slickdeals??? Thank you :)

They are not in Australia… The .au is a little misleading. Everything ships from the UK.

  • What's the expiry date on the protein? 10kgs will last me a year.

Heard Choc Smooth is good, as with Mocha.

    • Check the website

Coupon code 'BMSM' is better for orders over $120. 30% off all products, not just protein.

The expiry date should be clearly visible, not just on this site, but every business that sells food type products.

I've checked their website and I can't seem to find an expiry date on their protein.

If someone can find it please share it with us.

  • seems to charge postage in the checkout? anyone else having that issue?

Unless im missing something calorie/protein ratio not good. Better options on ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291524705239?_trksid=p2060353.m27…

  • Great deal. I've got protein powder stashed everywhere from the PHD deal recently otherwise would buy.

30% off protein or site wide

Are they trustworthy? There were stories a year ago questioning the amount of actual protein in it?

    • Their ability to deliver on the advertised amount is definitely questionable but tbh though you can expect much more for the price. I tend to go with the more expensive alternatives that actually taste good and mix properly, with proven lab results (BPI, Universal Nutrition, ON, etc.)

So I read the original comment by ddkistaken and decided to do a quick google search. Found a forum from last year that spoke about it (http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/m/tm.aspx?m=5298758&p=7). So from what I gathered (didn't look into too much as I'm busy studying for exams) but it was on reddit where an independent test was done and the content was lower than what they advertise (not sure on %). When MP tried to find the batch, lab etc to figure out what happened no info could be provided on the independent lab test so that itself was questionable.

Now, within that topic I think page 3, a representative replied and advised that they had done their own independent testing and found the content to be x amount. Some people got annoyed because although it was high, it was still below what they actually advertise themselves. A reply from a random on that topic was given, stating that the actual protein content is legit but on unflavoured versions, flavoured versions loose protein % due to the other stuff they have to put in, apparently this is shown on the nutritional panel.

Did a quick check of the panel on their website, and yep there it is. It states: The nutritional information is based on the Unflavoured version, when choosing an alternative flavour the nutritional values may vary by up to 15%.

I guess the annoying part for me personally is that no matter what flavour you choose it shows the exact same info and the same protein content for the unflavoured version. So basically there is no way knowing how much protein you are getting with any flavoured version. The unflavoured version has 82g per 100g and a loss of up to 15% drops the content to a minimum of 69.7g.

Someone stated in the forum above that chocolate is usually the killer when it comes to losing % content as they gotta put cocoa powder in etc, other flavours like banana and strawberry only loose 1-3% (mind you this is what they said, I have no way of verifying this)

I usually buy from Bulk Nutrients, so i checked their panel label, and they actually state the same thing, however their protein content only varies between 1-4% (from the maximum of 27.4g for the unflavoured version). What i liked about BN is that when you choose for example unflavoured it gives the content value of 27.4g and when choosing chocolate it drops to 26.3g (which is 4%), it actually shows you the nutritional values for the flavour you selected.

Now, either way this is a dirt cheap price, and I'm sure if you compared the pricing, content, avg price per 100g or whatever of BN WPI to Myprotein WPI you would still find you get bang for your buck with this deal, I guess it's just annoying it doesn't show the protein % for each flavour.

Now mind you, half of what I wrote, was in relation to the linked topic above, no idea what has happened since and at the end of the day, some comments people have written in that topic could just be bull-tish, after all it is a forum. Personally, I just wrote this here just so ozbargainers are aware mainly about the 15% variance, either way it's still a sweet deal and many flavours to choose from =)

All this was in relation to WPI, I'm assuming the 15% variance (or something similar) could be the same thing for WPC? But i haven't checked

Edit: apologies for any grammar or formatting issues. using split screen and trying to study at the same time, didn't have much time to proof read ha

        • This guy is very well educated on the topic.
I would advise others to go and do a google search before buying.

        • @Younge:

You may wanna ask yourself what is better value

          10kg with 75% purity or 5kg protein with 83% purity ?

        • @easternculture:

I'm not the best person to ask as my protein comes from real foods. Once upon a time I was on the protein bandwagon :D

          real foods > protein powders

The only real reason to buy WPI if your lactose intolerant. Don't get caught up in the marketing.

    • Yes, absolutely… I buy my Multi-Vitamins from Myprotein and have never had a problem… My only grip is shipping time as everything comes from the UK.

  • Is the delivery from Australia ?

  • Great deal. Thanks EC

  • Does anyone have any experience with how long protein bars usually last? Still got a bit of protein left from bulk nutrients and keen on some protein bars to make it to $150.

    • I've had protein bars a few weeks after their "best before date" and couldn't tell the difference, still tasted fine, but yeah I would be having them way too much past their best before date.

  • What's the refund policy, not happy get full refund?

  • btw the BMSM code still seems to work.
    used your referral code EC.

edit: the impact whey protein is $92.79 for me but impact whey isolate was $128.19.
Bought 10kg of impact whey and 2kg of creatine for $155.51.
