Dispelling the myth that all tightarses Drink Tap?

  • +1

I wonder if this would be considered a non-alcoholic product to be eligible for an extra 9.6% Cashrewards cashback… :)

    • +1

      Spot on :)

      • +1

I really need to get on this CashRewards thing..

        • +5

You could also pay using a 5.5% discounted e-Wish gift card for an effective 15.1% total discount :D

Use the refer-a-friend thing here. Then you and someone else on this site (randomly) gets $5 each for free!

      • I ordered and got my purchased tracked by CR:

        Sale value: AUD 12.00 *
        Expected cashback: AUD 0.67

        but $0.67 is 9.6% of $6.98?

        • Any clarification on the % rate TA?

        • +1

That 5.6% of $12, meaning that the sale has tracked as a mixed item

Cashback on Mixed Items: 5.60 %

        • @GreenGuava:

Makes sense. Thank you for stepping in and clarifying.

          @CVonC:

Any clarification on the % rate TA?

Apologies on the slowness of the reply, but I wanted to wait until I got an official response from our affiliate partner. Water is apparently classified as 'mixed items' rather than 'non-alcoholic products', therefore the correct cashback rate should be 5.6%, not 9.6% as originally suggested. Sorry for the misinformation.

        • @tightarse:

          Thanks TA

Good price! A shame that it's limited to 2 packs to get the discount. Or is there some way around this?

    • +2

Split it with a mate :)

      • +1

I mean, I want to buy more than 2 packs! The discount is only applied when you buy 2 packs, no more, no less

        • +1

          Multiple orders are your friend.

        • +1

Woolworths will have the 24 packs on sale for $5.5 starting Sep 28 so buy as many packs as you want.

          Inside info?

    Dan Murphy's. Enjoy

$11 for less than 29 litres of water

If it was whisky, maybe then I'd 'enjoy'…

    • +4

Find Jesus, get him to turn it to wine, trade for whisky?

    • +1

$11/24 is the normal price at Colesworth for these. By comparison this is 1/2 price. And I know the bloke that maintains the machinery at the Frantelle plant. Good bloke, but sometimes I have to tell him to put a lid on it when he talks about work :o)

      • Screw cap?

      • It does go on half price at Colsworths. I bought some two weeks ago.

The convenience factor at less than 30 cents per bottle when you are picking up a bunch of unrelated kids and have responsibility for them, can not be underestimated. Better than picking up 5x bottles at Caltex at $3+ each and then having requests for extra treats and wasting time. Bottled water from the supermarket = near on priceless. When I was a kid ( yep I'm old) I had never heard of bottled water. If there wasn't a bubbler, you went into the toilets and used the sink in there drinking like a horse with your hand. Now everyone expects water all the time in a sanitary container. Adults and kids. Happy to pay for 24 bottles for less than 2 at a retail outlet individually.

Our dentist told us to avoid bottled water, especially for the kids.

      • Yep, no fluoride.

      • A dentist giving advice on saving money? He must be over charging you.

      • +5

When you are picking up a bunch of thirsty, therefore dehydrated kids, do you really think the odd bottle of bottled water is going to hurt them? What'll hurt them and my wallet is if we stop off at Caltex and they want sugary fruit juices, other processed crap and then inevitably the fat one will start in on how they are hungry and want ice cream. Bye bye $50. If their parents have a problem with me greeting their sweaty cretins with bottles of individually sealed cold bottled water, then they can F off. What am I supposed to do, laboriously sanitise reusable water bottles ( minimising menigicocal) and give them tap water. No thanks. If anyone has a problem with their kids accepting bottled water, non-organic fruit and an occasional dominos pizza when I get a good deal with ozb, then they have three choices. They can pick their own kid up. They can tell their child to politely decline anything. Or they can lecture me about whatever they have a problem with and that'll be the last time their kid gets anything from me. Lift, water, food, tissue, sunscreen People should just be grateful. If it's somehow beneath you, keep your mouth shut and politely decline. Go without if it's not good enough. Pretty simple.

        • +1

Think differently, as Steve Jobs said.

          1. Advise the kids to ask their parents to bring their own drink bottle.

          2. Let the other kids share a single bottle if they don't bring one, let your kids use their own reusable bottle. Fill up using tap water and refrigerate the day before.

          3. When the other kids do get sick, remind their parents to bring their own water bottle. Their parents will learn quickly after staying home looking after little Billy and Jenny.

          4. Profit.
