Please Help Me Find an External Hard Drive Suitable for Mac and Windows with The New eBay Coupon

Hi all,

I'm not overly knowledgable when it comes to Mac/Windows HDD, but I need to purchase one for someone else.

Can someone please recommend a HDD with the following:
- Must be branded (Seagate, WD, Samsung etc etc.) i.e. No generic Companies
- Not too fussed about the look/feel
- At least 500gb
- USB 3 compatible
- and most importantly, has to work seamlessly between PC and Mac

I hope I can snag a bargain wiht the 20% off and secure something for around $90-$100.

Any help would be super greatly appreciated!!

Any hard drive will work - you just need to format the drive to FAT32 or exFAT.

The seagate is the cheapest per GB but i believe seagates currently have bad reviews.

    ExFAT is recommended. It's not usable in Windows XP by default, but who is using that these days. No, once in exFAT it's good for use across windows and apple and even linux.
    
    To format, it's very easy. Windows it's 'disk management' and on Apple it's Disk Utility. Click format, select exFAT, done in couple seconds.
