China Sourthern is offering cheap flights to Europe from $898 during March-May. China Southern is ranked 32 of 100 from Skytrax (e.g. Qantas #9, Air Canada #31, Korean Air #36, Delta #35, Jetstar #46). March-May is a great time to go to Europe, just starting to warm up.

  Is it possible to book this with a stopover in Guangzhou around May 1-5? Was literally just looking at flights to Guangzhou for those dates for work reasons, but if I can go to Europe before or afterwards for a holiday, that'd be great!

    Yep, you just have to do it as a multi-city. Skyscanner is showing $918, leaving May 1 to Guangzhou, leaving May 5 from Guangzhou to Amsterdam, Amsterdam back to Melbourne May 18.

  Good prices but it's a near 30 hr journey each way from Perth to Amsterdam on this route.
  KLM is 20 hrs going there and 22hrs coming home for around $1100

  Low Prices, High journey time. Probably only worth it if you stop over in China for a bit.

  IMO I'd rather pay extra (around 400) and go Qatar airlines.
