Yes… but best when you swap out drives with equal capacities.
Otherwise, it might be better to transfer your Windows license to the new drive.
Then move over all your personal data.
Just google forums for help with the procedure:

I used to program called macrium reflect to clone the drives before I swapped mine over. If you have windows 10 installed you could install a new copy by downloading windows 10 from microsoft and installing from usb and it will recognize your hardware and automatically activate, then copy files over and install software.
Symantec Ghost
Clonezilla is free.
Or use one of the many free tools on http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
If your SSD is a Samsung drive, they come with Samsung's own migration software.
Or EaseUS Todo Backup - Free version will get the job done
http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-softwar…I've done it with both ways, worked easily and perfectly.
Did it clone the hard drive properly?
Mine are business use laptops running Windows 10 Pro that connect to a work domain.
I have never had any issue with either Acronis or StorageCraft products for imaging HDD's. I would suggest looking at these as they will not only serve your purpose, they are incredible for regular backups. StorageCraft Shadow Protect is the better one!
Easiest is to use DriveClone from Farstone. Does all the things you need automatically, resize, migrate, adjust ID for Windows 8/10 so it recognizes it.
Its free for personal use.
Just plug in SSD into USB via USB 2.5 inch case ($10 or so) unless you already have one.
I believe some have a migration software that will do it for you.
