Alternative security screen to Crimsafe in WA?

Hi all,

Just wondering which other brand of security screen you would recommend apart from Crimsafe in WA? Most would agree Crimsafe is probably the best & expensive in the industry, so really looking for cheaper alternative. I was quoted $1.8k for a double door security doors. Appreciate if someone could recommend good & reasonable priced security door company in Perth. Thanks!

  • I am exactly in the same position as you. Just yesterday I contacted the following for a free measure and quote:

Only Clearshield and Commandex have replied. They're busy though and won't come out till first week of October.

    • Mind sharing your quote? Cheers

      • I wonder if there's any workshops around… maybe you can get something made by a trainee for some pocket money??

Or if you have the tools/bench-space, build it your self:

^Plus Bunning's sells steel mesh that you can grind into the right size and secure to the security screen.
Just beware that if you buy Crimsafe and get burgled, they won't care. It's just like getting water damage to your iPhone 7… they're not gonna replace it.

        • Nah, definitely not that DIY kind of person…I don't mind spend the money if the alternative would be enough to withstand typical kick from petty burglar..

      • As soon as I get them i'll let you know.

  • FYI I went with a local company in Sydney called SP Screens. Everyone else was quoting over 1500 for a large front security door but they came in at 999.

I do have a word of advice… forget Amplimesh, they're useless. Repeated queries on their website yielded no response. So I called their number directly and managed to book for a measure quote. The guy never showed up. Useless!

  • Thanks for the update mate. I went with commandex due to their superior 316 SS compared to others like clearshield using 304 SS . Amplimesh and commandex gave me both similar price, but in the end I chose one based on good will discount.

  • Also those who decide to go with crimsafe, be aware! They didn't tell you they got a metal screw through the the mesh, so there's contact between the aluminium frame and the SS mesh, meaning chances of corrosion is higher.

  • I installed screens from https://www.safewaysecurityscreens.com.au they have a product called SecureView which is their brand name product similar to crimsafe. Significant cost savings and as good or better in terms of security and "look".
