The reviews seem to say otherwise, about a 5% difference performance wise on latest games. The 4Gb one is a good $50 cheaper too. I would likely be gaming at 1080/1440p might be more a factor.
It really depends on whether or not you swap out your card that much. There are instances where 8gb definitely would help…but I opted for 4gb as the majority of instances that will be enough.
if youre gonna play at 1440p then definitely get 8gb. i used to own a GTX 980 4gb and was running into problems with games like mirrors edge catalyst and forza motorsport apex due to the 4gb
Actually haven't even tried 1440p yet. I only upgrade every few years (still using an i5 overclocked). But wouldn't mind giving it a go if it was doable. I have a 4k monitor (samsung u28e590d) so i understand 1440p is not native but from what i have read it should work with minimal issues perhaps not quite as crisp as 1080p. Could all be nuff and end up playing 1080p anyway though
