I am a dinosaur wen it comes to this sort of thing so need some help. We live in a caravan park residential section. Our park has wi-fi but we are obviously out of range .We dont have a modem or landline just a mobile with Internet . My laptop when tethered to my phone does not work and I need to find and print documents over the internet at times. What can I do to make the wi-fi signal stronger without getting a land line? Is it possible? .
Wi-Fi Signal Extender

You can get a external antenna or get a outdoor wireless repeater. Something like this:

A repeater could be useless if there is nothing to repeat.
But an outdoor antenna might pick up a signal that a small inbuilt antenna cannot.
OP you might also investigate building a Cantenna (google it)
The other option is to see if one of your friendly (hopefully) neighbors can get WiFi, in which case, you may be able to set up a repeater in their caravan.
Finally, is it worth speaking to the owners to see if they would invest in cabling to a second access point?
And if that's not an option cause you're not strictly speaking permitted to access the WiFi, then you should fix your phone hotspot issues… Pop into a store for your network provider and get them to assist if need be.
Needs signal before it can extend it.
I'd imagine something like this, pointed at the router that's the wireless access point, would work:

Your laptop probably won't have the right connector, but you can get a name brand USB wifi adapter that has the same one as the antenna and use that.
Googling wifi antenna should give a few options - you might need on that's on a pole outside, like a TV antenna.
Thanks guys for yr comments .I'll have to investigate further. You've given me something to go on ☺
Move laptop closer to wifi and work there.
