Car Bumper Scratch Fix

Hello,

Yesterday when reversing my car I accidentally scratched the bumper.

Can someone suggest a less expensive way to fix it.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Depends how bad it is, minor ones will buff out. (pic if possible please)

To test if you can buff it out, spray the scratch with a little water, if it disappears then the scratch is only in the clearcoat and you can use some fine wet/dry paper and a buffing compound to get it out.
If the scratch is still highly visible with the water sprayed on then it has penetrated the clearcoat into the paint , primer or the underlying plastic. In this case you have a few options.
Depending on your car, there may be a colour matched paint pen that you can use to easily and quickly fill in the scratches, however if it is deep and more complex you may need to prep and spray it (Supercheap can colour match paint into an aerosol can for you) - look at Youtube, especially ChrisFix who has excellent tutorials on this sort of thing…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nYF46P7B2c

    Hit the Batmobile again huh?!

  • is it a deep scratch? or is it just paint on your paint? a pic would be awesome

  • DIY is the cheapest, using colour matched rattle cans.

  • Sometimes scratch and polish works. Else pointless dent repairs

Go to super cheap auto or the like, ask staff to have a alook and see if they think anything they have will do the trick. A Polish compound may help if vry light scratch, a cut and Polish compound may be needed if a little deep.
If the area is small and almost hidden then a DIY touch up may suffice, but I have heard very few good results from these though.
    Hope this helps.
