Misleading Lebara Plan Inclusion?

I bought a simcard from the website and selected the Mega Plan:
http://www.lebara.com.au/30-day-plans/mega
As the website stated, it includes:
Mega Plan: $39.90 prepaid plan for 30 days
Data: 7GB
National Standard calls (mobile & landline) - Unlimited ?incl. 13 & 18 numbers
Standard SMS and MMS – unlimited
International calls - Up to 150 FREE international minutes
Data – add more data
Flagfall – free
SIM card – free

The Critical Info Summary also states that it includes:
Unlimited national standard talk, text and MMS.
 7GB Data
 Up to 150 inclusive minutes to any country
 Valid for 30 days from recharge
 Unlimited calls to 13,1300 and 1800 numbers Australia wide

I called up to activate and the rep insisted it doesn't include the 150 free international minutes since what I have is a starter pack. Seems strange since I've got the unlimited calls & sms and 7GB data, just not the international minutes. The rep said I will receive the international minutes if I recharge with the same plan next month.
Did anyone else receive international minutes with first activation on that plan?

    Up to.

    • Yes, zero is "up to"!

But I agree with OP, it seems misleading to me.

I agree, misleading. If they wont resolve it take it to the TIO

  • It's misleading report to Fair Trading and ACCC.

  • I was enquiring about their "up to 150 international minutes" yesterday using the online chat on the website and found out that you are given a $3 bonus, and the rate per minute to the country you are calling depends on how long that $3 lasts.

Example if it costs 2c per min to call a country you will get 150 minutes ($0.02 x 150 = $3) or if the country you are calling costs 4c per minute you'll get 75 minutes.

They didn't mention anything about it not being included in the first month.

    • Hmm.. I see. Thanks. I have a letter from them (that was sent with the simcard) that if you activate online they will give you $3 credit, but even that is spread across 3 recharges ie $1 credit per recharge. Looking at their rates the calls are 2c and up.
Another dodgy telco advertising I guess.
