I trust people who are interested about this deal know this game pretty well. It's an awesome game. Someone even played it for 6159 hours. That's crazy! Game review is here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/IDKwhatmyurlshouldbe/recommende…

EB has it for $28, but it's PC only.

This is a part of Aspyr celebrates its 20th anniversary with Steam sale. Aspyr is a developer who specialises in porting Windows games to Mac and Linux.
Full list is here: http://store.steampowered.com/sale/aspyr/?snr=1_41_4__42

Note#1: Don't buy it from G2A. I bought the same game on G2A, but the code did not work. Paypal helped me and charged back as G2A refused to refund.
Note#2: Civilization VI is coming soon, but V is a good game to keep anyway.
Note#3: if price is everything and you are a risk seeker, you can pay $4 to get it from here: http://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.html?spm=a1z3o.769546…

Enjoy!

    Don't buy this from Steam.

The USA price is $12.27. We are being charged an extra 62%.

2K is one of the worst publishers for price gouging Australians. Don't support them when the price they charge us is basically a big (profanity) you.

Well…agree to disagree. Depends on how you feel about it. AU Netflix has much smaller library than US one, but people still subscribe AU one (or forced because Geo-block) over Stan or others.

      • Slightly different here. There is little to no cost associated with digital delivery across the globe. The Netflix example is due to exclusive licensing; content is currently licensed to stan/etc so Netflix is unable (not unwilling) to provide it in Australia.

      • odd, I just noticed, when I click the link, it shows up as $10.08 USD, did they remove the Australian tax?

Civ6 will come out in a month.

    • Correct! CivVI will also introduce a lot of different (and games changing) mechanics so this will still be an interesting (agreed, not the best) game in the series =)

A lot cheaper in link above

  • -1

Why the negging? Why not just mention where you can get this cheaper and leave it at that?
It doesn't cost a thing to be nice to others who are simply trying to post a good deal.
Some newbies may be reluctant or put off posting potential bargains as a result.

    • +2

Actually I believe the ozb guidelines say negging due to lower price elsewhere is perfectly correct.

      • Even so once is enough. The point has been made.

        • Hey mate, thanks standing up for me. Much appreciated. They can get much cheaper price elsewhere but I got some troubles. Paid $9 from G2A for an invalid key.

If the cheapest price is everything for them, I don't care being negged. I post the deal for the fans not for the cheapest-price bloodhounds. I consider Price/quality/supplier altogether.

I prefer to pay a little more from a place I trust. Eg I rather buy windows 10 from officeworks than cheap keys from reddit.

Why are you fervently arguing for people to not follow the site guidelines for deals?

          Negative votes are good.

        • Check the scan not just text on your g2a key ….had same problem .though rare As most of my games are g2a …..they had a typo (1 character) as they copied it from the original code to the website ….. I typed in the scan version of the code and worked fine ……

        • @garage sale:
Yea… I got a plenty of games from there longtime ago with insanely cheap price until I learnt I probably helped sellers money laundering stolen credit cards.

My main places of buying steams games are: steam, humble bundle, gmg etc.

    • +1

I tend to keep negs for spam posts (advertising or marketing etc.) and hope others will do the same :)

      • Same …. I neg spam or infomercials.

    • +3

      I negged because:

      a) The game is a lot cheaper than $26 at a lot of places right now. EBAY, G2A, Gamesplanet to name just a few. $26 would be above the median price from most decent cheaper stores.

      b) $26 is not cheap for this game based on historical sale prices - and it isn't anywhere near the cheapest current price. Therefore I don't see $26 for this game as any sort of bargain in any way.

The OP says they don't just consider price, but also supplier quality. If we go down that path, anybody could post any item at any price from any supplier and then claim it is a bargain because in their view, the supplier is the best.

Following that logic you could post every discounted Steam game in every Steam sale every week.

I can just see it now, Harvey Norman would employ a full time OzBargain staff member who would just SPAM with every single item Harvey Norman sells at their over-inflated prices, then say it's a bargain because Harvey Norman is a quality supplier in their eyes.

      • I agree with what you said but the 9 up-votes for this post suggests that there are a few who are either prepared to pay more to get it from Steam or they may have found other bargains there through this post ("+ Other Deals")

        • If nobody negs, how do you tell the bad deals from the good?

        • @rememberme:
I'm not saying we should not down-vote a non-bargain or bad deal but that once someone has already pointed that out (and down-voted it) then let's be a bit more sympathetic with the newbies and not make them feel dejected by a lot of negative votes. Why rub it in?

This has been $10 USD before, and bound to get lower with Civ6 coming out.

  • This states $26: 92% off. What the hell game has an RRP of $325!?

    • That's what steam says. :P

      • Haha yeah no dig at you =) more a comment on sales tactics =p

    • +2

The number isn't there to reflect reality, it's to push you over the edge when making a decision. It's a form of manipulation that you can't do anything about.

I loved every Civ game in the series except for this one. Civ V is a terrible game. I wish they had just done another Civ IV. Don't waste your money.

  • I paid $2.50 for Civ 5 2-3 years ago…
