  • Took 2 weeks for my iphone car charger to arrive from this mob. I thought i'd have it by the weekend if I ordered it Monday night. Yea it came by the weekend, the next weekend on the Friday. +1 to the freebie though

  • Thanks, I need a new protector for my iphone. Perfect timing

  • +4

    got it heheheee this is the 5th one i got off OzBargain

    • +2

      Yeah. Got 3 of these now. Maybe I should get an iPhone.

      • Can always just cut it out for different model phone or device

      • Nah, their screens scratch too easily ;-)

  • yay freebie

  • peeled my old one off today, timing couldnt be better

  • nice. thanks

  • +1

    The postage (for them) definitely costs more than the package.

  • I know its a freebie, and u cant argue with that… but, may i say, from experieince, ur much better off with a matt (anti glare) screen protector. it makes a BIG difference with fingerprints and is so much more smoother when using the screen. worth paying $2 from ebay.

    • but its free

      • yeah

        FREE!!!

        Can't beat that :)

  • Thanks!!!

  • thanks

  • Awesome, missed the last one of these. Cheers!

  • thanks :)

  • Thanks!

    Guys they have updated their address system, please click Update link when notified about this and see if the state is correct. Mine was automatically changed to VIC or something, when I previously put in WA. just a word of warning, incase they send to wrong place :)

  • +3

    Just wondering how could you guys afford to keep sending them out for free… I know some manufacturers may have piles left over since the new iPhone's about to come out and good bargain picks them up for resale but surely giving them away for free for a couple of times would dig a bit into the pocket?

    anyway, you can cut these to fit on cameras and other screens as well… thanks :)

    Oh and the good bargain page, regarding pen, paper and scissors etc., should be spelt "stationery".

    • +1

      They can afford it because the cost of the screen protector is less than the cost of the stamp on the envelope.

    • +3

      How freebies work mathematically:
      freebie = marketing
      freebie = item + stamp + envelope
      markeing = signps + site exposure
      thus, item + stamp + envelope = signups + site exposure

      estimations (excl. labour):
      item = 20c
      stamp = 55c
      envelope = 5c
      therefore item = 80c
      hence, marketing = 80c per person.
      sub in say, 500 people and that's a cost of approximately $400 for 500 new signups and 500 new eyes on the website. Cheap marketing tool. Effective? I can't say, but if this isn't their first time offering it, I'm sure it is working for them.

      • +1

        Going on .80c an item, it's costing them $1600 just for this giveaway (2000 pieces).

        I very much doubt it equates to 2000 new signups - some are return customers.

        I must say, some people really are cheapskates, they own a $900 iPhone but instantly jump on a freebie like this, when they could get a better anti-glare screen protector from eBay for $2.

        • Good points raised +1 for you =). If you really want to get technical. They do get a tax deduction by writing off their inventory. Additionally, by increasing their expenses (postage & envelopes) they are able decrease their taxable income, assuming that the business is profitable.

          You are right that there wouldn't be 2000 new signups, but there will be without a doubt a high percentage of signups as there is such a high rate of traffic on ozbargain, i doubt the very same people are able to get in on it. Additionally, according to estimated stats from google, around 20,000 unique visitors view ozbargain per day. To have their website on the front page of ozbargain as a freebie is enough to gain attention and traffic to their own site. I reckon this is a reason why the rep offers freebies in blocks rather than the whole 2000 at once. Having the freebie with a sold out sign will not give bargin seekers incentive to click further to explore their other products. So I still stick by my theory of 'freebie = marketing' =).

          By the way, I use a martin fields screen protector. Best screen protectors I've ever used but they are a bit steep at approximately $25ea. A freebie like this may be used as a back-up. For example, if the expensive one were to be damaged, this one could be used while a replacement is ordered. We aren't all cheapskates, it's just your pereption of others =).

    • This looks more like a end of financial year write off.

    • -2

      I'm about 100% sure you spell stationary as 'stationary'. In Australia at least.

      • +2

        You are 100% incorrect.

      • +1

        stationery = pens, paper etc.
        stationary = not moving.

  • What cart system are they using? its so easy to use and fluid, wasn't lost or confused at all!!!

    Thank you so much Good bargain

    • Looks like PrestaShop

  • Is there an option for 4.3" screen protector? :)

    • Yep, all good now. Thanks.

    • WTH? why not just have the 2000 available until sold out? Missed out again :(

  • -1

    need another one. last one arrived damaged beyond use.

  • It just worked for me! Thanks again:)

  • can u give away like free mirrored covers instead of transparent ones

  • expired ……… i missed it :(

  • -2

    i just put a new cover on and screwed it up… does anyone know the best way to put on the screen cover without making your iphone look like it just got chicken pox??!! :(

    • thats coz uve trapped air in it. the trick is to treat it like a baby. slowly place the screen protector on one side and while applying pressure from the top carefully moving it along till the other end. Use a pen or pencil to hold up the underside of the other end of the screen protector until ur comfortable with moving it along. Creating a bend in the screen protector between the pen and the point where your applying the pressure is the key for less air. Also any dust on the screen will trap air if you apply a screen protector over it, so make sure the screen is thoroughly clean (use the cloth) before you start.

      anyway thats my take on it.

      • yeah your right about the dust.. what sucks is that its really hard to clean it all away! i think i should next time do it in a park or somewhere where there is less dust compared to my room : p thanks for that!

  • Thanks for the freebie

  • i appreciate the info everyone posts…but sometimes i hate you all, sick of missing out even after a couple hours lol

    • Well if you wanna be a night owl then feel free to join us
      :)

  • damn 2000 screen protectors, what a loss, thanks GB

  • Thank you so much for the info on screen protectors. Great freebie. I have heard if you put the screen ptotectors on with a credit card to even out the air bubbles it really helps as you can bend the credit card to the shape of the screen. Havent tried it myself but will do when I recieve my freebie. Thanks again.
    Sharon

    • +2
