In terms of chocolate grams/per $ I'm not impressed, but the quality of Cadbury blocks has plummeted in recent years, and Nestle choc has always been gross. So now Lindt blocks are the best option* for edible supermarket chocolate, making this a must-buy deal.

*: Whitaker's isn't bad either, but rarely goes half price.

      +1 Whitakers

Another +1 to Whittakers. Great chocolate, just miss the variety that you can get in NZ - Mmmm Hokey Pokey.

Whitaker's not bad but they don't have anything quite as dark as 85% or 90% cacao.

    • My partner and I have been enjoying the new Coco range by Cadbury as of late, give it a try if dark chocolate is your thing.

Cadbury is good but probably not as good as lindt in my opinion. I do like that the flavoured ones (mint, orange) are 70% dark for Cadbury rather than 50% of lindt though

I have my doubts about that 70% figure. Looking at the structure of say the orange variety, there is an outer coating which is probably 70% around a filling with orange which is probably not 70%. Whereas Lindt is reporting the overall cocoa solids percentage. What I did not like about the Coco orange is that the orange peel bits were dry. I haven't tried the mint.

Anyone else thinking that these are only worth $20/kg and not $40/kg?

    • Yep, when we buy some Lindt dark chocolate blocks at $2 or $2.5, it's like paying the retail price in France (without shipping cost -> made in France and without excessive gross margin).

    • Yep, rather buy the Lindor balls from Costco.

Yep aldi has European chocolate at less than $20 kg ……
