My Samsung Chromebook cost $300 and is a couple of years old but I've just broken the screen.
Is it worth getting the screen repaired or should I bite the bullet and buy a new Chromebook.
Anyone have any idea how much a screen repair might cost?
Thanks

Good news is at least some Samsung chrome book replacement screens are as low as $50 according to eBay.
Buying something like this on eBay? You should be able to get the screen replaced for under $100 + a bit of work.
Which model is it?

from amazon: US$45 delivered - i've read recommendations from a school tech guy who replaces screens on mass scale and swears by these from this particular store/seller.
from aliexpress: US$34 delivered but not 100% sure this is the right one, it is 1366X768 and 40pin (so same specs). (dick smith sell these for $146.33)
not worth it. you can still use it with an external monitor right? you're better of getting a 22" IPS LED Monitor than paying for the repair cost. This is on the assumption that you're only using it at home.
I use it on the run.
Thanks for the replies.
I've taken the old screen out but haven't been to plug it back in. I think I will go ahead and order a new screen and hopefully be able to connect it.
Replacing screens in most laptops is pretty easy.
Search eBay for the part and search google for the instructions.
As a general guide, I would expect screens to cost around $100.
Replacing it will take 20-30mins, so I would expect a cheap computer fix person to charge at least $150 to do it for you, less if you supply the replacement screen.
I would probably do it myself rather than a new machine, but if I had to get somebody else to do it, I would just buy a new chrome book.
