Priceline Is Sending SMS Spam

Priceline just sent me SMS spam which is disgraceful for a large business like this.

To be clear I am a member of their reward program where presumably I gave my inferred consent to recieve SMS marketing messages from them. However what makes it spam is that it has no mechanism to unsubscribe. No information either. According to ACMA this means Priceline is undertaking in criminal behavior.

So I have sent this message from these blundering, criminal morons to ACMA where probably nothing will get done about it.

Wait till it's late at night or really early in the morning (12-4am is ideal)and call the number they SMS from.

Instead of saying anything in audible English, make digital beep sounds and doots like a fax machine.

Do this for at least a week every second morning to confuse that electronic spammer. That will teach em a lessen for your inconvenience.

    • The messages aren't being sent from a phone so calling it wouldn't do anything.

  • Hello & sorry to hear about the spam. Many of our customers enjoy our hourly deals and may I guide you to our massage department where you can treat yourself to a wonderful array of relaxing products while reading our messages?

  • More SMS spam from PriceSpam today.

I'm going to into the store and demand that they fix it in a loud voice. Nowhere else to go.

I'd say it's a fake SMS. These large retailers would have legal teams looking their promotions to ensure they comply with regulations.

Omitting an option to Opt-Out is illegal.
