Two Separate Bookings to Take Advantage of Free Nights

Hi,

I'm looking at staying 11 nights in Hawaii. At some of the Hilton properties over there, there's a pay 4 nights get the 5th night free promotion. I was thinking about trying to split my booking into one 5 night stay and one 6 night stay so I can take advantage of the free nights offer twice. I realise the downside is that I'd have too check out half way through and check back in but getting a second night free would be worth it. Has anyone tried this before? If so, has it worked? Would the hotel combine the bookings if I booked them consecutively?
Any guidance here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

One book under your name and second your partner or wife..

    • good idea. just wasn't sure if hotels did anything (eg revoke the pricing) if they cottoned on to what we did.

Call the hotel, ask them if they'll just do it (10 nights for the price of 8). Saves having to stuff around

  • Be prepared to change rooms half way through and overlap of not having a room during that time

  • Hotels should be able to combine the two bookings together, and honoring the rates, that way you wouldn't have to move yourself around and check-in check out. Recently stayed at one of the Doubletree in Australia, three separate bookings for three different type of rooms and three consecutive night, got the same room for three nights without even asking (got the highest category room in the three types I booked).
Just a note of caution, if you are trying to qualify for elite status, two consecutive bookings under same name counts as one stay. So if you are trying to qualify, might be best to book one night in the middle under your partner's name.
