Bought 5 identical items from China/hk off 5 sellers. Cost was minimal, but wanted it fast, so figured I'd order multiple times and hoped one may come quick. Turns out I ordered 5 items off the same seller! Why do they bother doing this when each had thousands of feedback over 99.5% positive?
Why multiple accounts for dropshipping?
Drop shipping is a risky business if your supplier lets you down. There is a reasonable chance this will happen at some time during every drop shippers career - if 1 eBay account performs poorly due to bad feed back at least the seller can roll on with their other high performing accounts.
i guess if one gets bad ratings they can close it and still have others with good feedback.
One account had over 200,000 feedback with great %. So I'm not sure they need it for this reason.
Better search rankings for multiple items. ie. They cannot list the same product 3,4,5 times as 1 seller and have each of their 3,4,5 items ranked on the first pages of search (eBay may even block or ban them for listing multiples of the same item) - whereas if the seller has 3,4,5 accounts they can (with reasonable confidence) list the item once with each account and "legitimately" dominate the search rankings by having their item listed multiple times above that of their competitor(s).
A little off topic.
But I have multiple eBay accounts to make use of targeted offers that never approach an active account.
The latest offer I received was 10 free listings, with no final value fees.
I'm saddened my main account didn't receive such an offer as it would be good to improve my feedback ratings.
If eBay want to be unfair with targeted offers. Well I guess being a little unfair back makes things a little fairer (:

Simple.
Imagine there are 3 other sellers for your product and all at the same price.
You are 1 seller and have 25% of the market.
Now create 5 other accounts and sell the same item. You now have 6 sellers and 66.6% of the market and visibility.
Your sale and market share will be much better.
