Legitimate Online Doctor?

The other day at work a friend of mine told me how he was able to get a script online for a certain drug. Lets call it Viagra.

Anyways it got me thinking, firstly is this legit? Secondly does anyone have any experience with this?

The other day i took a day off work and waited at the Dr for 45 minutes, just to get a medical certificate to say i was sick for that day. I'm wondering if it's possible to get a medical certificate online and if so any recommendations for a good site to do this?

There's quite a few websites that come up in search results but i'm a bit skeptical at this point in time.

  • Any Australian doctor who does this risks losing their registration with AHPRA. Although may be some doctors who can do a video/phone consultation?

You can look up any doctor's registration here: http://www.ahpra.gov.au/registration/registers-of-practition…

Only registered doctors can provide a prescription or medical certificate. And anyone who makes themselves out to be a doctor but isn't registered risks prosecution/legal action.

What health issues can I see a doctor online for?
You can talk to a doctor online for just about anything from common coughs and colds, weightloss, sexual health issues, emotional wellbeing advice, specialist referrals, prescription repeats and sick certificates requests.

    • Thanks these guys look pretty good. Doesn't look like anyone bulk bills but worth the convenience.

  • It seems like you want a bulk billing doctor if I read this correctly. In any case if you just need a certificate you can get one from your local chemist for around $10

    • yeah chemists can provide a "leave certificate". I did this once when my employer was whinging about me taking time off. Cost me a lot more than $10 tho

    • Interesting i didn't know that, might give them a try next time.

You can get bulk billed home visits.

Is one but there are many others.

    • I feel like it's a waste of resources having them come out because i'm sick. I was just looking for an easier way to get a medical certificate than having to queue up at the Dr. I used home Dr once, took them a few hours to arrive, and on another occasion it took them a few hours to even call back to arrangement appointment.
