Invoice for Service Not Requested?

Wondering if anyone knows what I should do

I contested a very large charge to my Credit Card, turns out 2nd charge from a cleaning company that previously did work earlier.

I contested the charge with Visa, however the company produced an invoice dated day after original work.

The miracle being it had our signature
but the time and date we were not home at all
so we could not have signed it,
it was pitch black outside at the time they claimed to do works outside.

Visa will succeed to get my money back however nothing will happen to this company
what can I do?

If the signature was not yours, you can probably go to a fair trading or accc department to claim fraud and they should really penalise the company

  • Fair trading consumer affairs Victoria said they couldn't do anything
and Visa said their punishment is to take the money off them
not exactly punishment as it was never their money in the first place.

Where at ACCC would i look, it appears to point me back to CAV

VCAT not really a punishment either because I need to invest some risk.

Please see inadequate response below. Your next step is to take this company to VCAT. VCAT can be reached on 9628 9830. You can claim back a full refund of all monies taken by this company, plus compensation for consequential loss

Isn't it a criminal offence to forge a signature. Shouldn't you take it to the Police?

    • so i'm looking in the wrong direction?
