Worst baby monitor. Sorry op. They constantly freeze or drop out all together. I've had one for 2 years. It's frustrating as all get out.

    • Do you have a preference for an alternative (have my first baby on the way) :)

      • Using a phone /tablet as the other half of your baby monitor can be a pain. My advice is to get a unit that has dedicated sender and receiver units together.

        Congrats on the bub.

We use Xiaomi Yi Ant Cam in the kids room. paid ~$40 each. Motion detect alerts from app was handy. If you do get one, make sure you ask the seller if it's international edition otherwise you'll have to buggerise around flashing it with an old firmware (we had to do this on one of the cams) to get it working outside China.

Good thing with all these cameras is that you can view it on you phone/tablet e.g. at work when you're having a crap day & need cheering up - just open the app & watch your bub sleeping ;-)

If you do get one with sound detect, disable it, it'll drive you mad worrying - new borns are noisy sleepers and you'll hear them when their crying with your new super sensitive ears. Good luck with it all!

Either yours is faulty or you have bad wifi. We have one of these that has run rock solid constantly for about 2 years now. It has never locked up or dropped out, in fact no problems at all. It's just not the highest resolution camera around.

      • Ditto - ours has worked very well over the past two years.

        • Just to complete the feedback. I have two. You're at the mercy of DLinks app updates. In the 2.5 years I have them they've gone from rock solid to POS to rock solid to POS… Repeat.

When they do drop out its usually quite trivial to get it back online but when Bub is super little I wouldn't dream of using this as the only monitor.

My setup was one of these on mute + baby sound monitor. When they get older you can drop the sound monitor.

I have found since switching to 'my Dlink lite' app, I don't get freezes anymore. Same login however can't seem to get notifications to work like Dlink baby app.
