I bought a nexus6p via EBAY and the seller is KOGAN. I am now trying to file tax returns and as this is my work phone,I am trying to understand how do I get an invoice?
Kogan shipped me the product along with a commercial invoice which has no content about GST etc in it. Paypal receipt does not have any content of GST either.Ebay payment transaction has no invoice attached it.
Can anyone recommend me what's the best way to get an invoice?
Are you sure it's not from Kogan's international (China/Hong Kong) subsidiary? There is no GST in this case.
The commercial invoice says it is from hong kong which might explain now gst in invoice. Will this be enough for claiming tax return for work expense is something I have to find out?. Thanks
i'm no accountant, but yes, put the entire amount in as a business expense.
Are you actually registered for GST? If not, it doesn't matter if it says GST or not, you claim the full amount paid (as you cannot claim a GST credit).
your pp transaction email is the invoice. print that. you can also use the ebay purchase history and print an order details.
EBay order details in the email? Or from eBay website?
He's already gotten an invoice from Kogan - this will be enough, and most likely laid out better than the paypal trans email.
Maybe it has no GST because it was drop shipped?
