  • no hdmi? :(

  • Resolution: 1280 x 1024

    Wait, what?

  • 1280 x 1024

holy i didnt know thats possible now days

    • It's so you don't feel claustrophobic.

  • so, what happen with the warranty for this discontinue product?

    http://www.lg.com/us/computer-products/monitors/LG-lcd-monit…
This product has been DISCONTINUED. But you can see all of our current Monitors here:

    • Nothing. It's the exact same warranty.

That said, it being a discontinued model is the likely reason for the sale with limited numbers - to clear out old stock.

Looks like a decent monitor for a decent price to me.

EDIT Note: The most appealing thing about this deal is the free shipping. Without that it's a mediocre deal.

    • Apparently LG and Samsung have 3 year full dead pixel warranties, so that's one positive. Would have been nicer for it to be 24", but I believe LG only has 1920x1200 at 24".

      • Really? All new 24" I come across are 1920x1080. I'd much prefer that extra vertical space

        • Hmm… Seems like the new models have changed quite a bit, yeah, there's 24" 1080p now.

    • Careful there, you've quoted the LG US website.

The LG Australia website seems to suggest that this is still a current model (well, I can't find anything about it being discontinued)

also no monitor deal will beat the 89$ dell one for loooong time

    • That deal was so stupid, I don't know how Dell didn't know that if they boosted the price by $30-40 it would have been sold out still. meh, beats me.

      • +1

It wasn't that stupid :). I got upgraded to the ST2210, so ended up with 3x ST2210's for $89 each!

        • I mean the suppliers were stupid, not the deal itself.

  • $190 for a 23" isn't that big of a deal.

I mean for $192, you can get a 23" LG W2343T-PF, which has been at that price for as long as I can remember.

Free shipping earns a positive though.

A very quick search on staticice showed that this is NOT an amazing deal. Definitely not a bargain if you can buy at around the same price regularly:
    http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=W2343T&spos=3

Sorry ozbargain needs to stop becoming an advertising fest with businesses taking advantage of consumers with "amazing deals" which can be had any day of the week.

    • +2

I think the point is that it has free shipping. Not everyone lives in a city near one of those stores.

  • -1

LOL… Another monitor without a DVI cable included in the box.

    • +1

LG, you've done it again. Thats almost as bad as the ridiculous resolution on a 23 inch.

    • @camelgrass
why does this get a positive vote than?

  • -2

Since when has free shipping made something a bargain?

It is the normal price, add some free shipping and wow you have an amazing deal! NOT!

    • +1

This item 'including' shipping is already cheaper than everyone else on staticice, shipping alone for an LCD is usually ~$18 so yes, this is a bargain as its cheaper than the competition and includes freight.

      • I guess we have different definitions of the word bargain. 10% off including the shipping is normal not Amazing to me. But if your happy with this so called bargain then so be it. ozbargain will become an advertising fest because of people like you.

        • Not really motlking. OzBargain users decide what is and what is not a bargain. If they decide it's not a bargain then it will hardly hit the radar.

BTW, have you found a similar product cheaper than this?

          • +4

@camelgrass: Fair enough. I agree this is cheaper than the competition but users must differentiate between cheaper than competition and bargain.

            • +1

@motlking: therefore we are here at ozbargain.com.au not slightlyozcheaperthanother.com.au

            • +1

@motlking: agree, cheaper several $ is just for advertising, and not bargain, i don't care $5 for a nearly $200 LCD, too many junk post, waste time.

            • @motlking: motlking.

Its up to the people here to discern whether 10% off is a deal or not. WE have NO defined % off as a criteria for a deal, except that the deal must be better than what is normally offered.

We have two pages, one for New deals and one for Popular. If a deal is liked then and only then it gets to the Popular page. Positive votes get it there

whereas 2 negative votes takes it off all pages by default. Hence we ask that negative votes be used carefully.

If its not a deal it doesnt make the popular page. You can set your browser to default to taht if you want to filter out the "poorer" deals.

              Read the negative vote wiki

              http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

Depending on other mods opinion, your vote may be revoked. it stands at this point but its very marginal.

              • @[Deactivated]: at least you have to restrict shop representative to stop post many ads like “bargain”, I know they have limited post for each week, but seems they won’t “waste” any quota of posting on OZbargain. if their deal is really good, other user will post on OZbargain, not by themselves.

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: Negative votes should not be used to if you simply dislike the deal or if you think the deal is not good enough. As per the guidelines, that is not what negative votes are for. I understand that most sites with pos/neg voting system allow you to express your likes/dislikes by voting positive or negative, however negative votes on here are for different purposes and are not used to reflect the popularity of a deal.

On OzBargain, negative votes are generally for alerting others that there is something fundamentally wrong with the deal (e.g. can be found cheaper elsewhere justified by a source, contain hidden catches such as contracts or hidden fees which were not disclosed, illegal product, bad experience with the product, etc — i.e. facts). Negative votes have the potential of making the deal unavailable to everyone, even to those that may benefit from the deal.

motlking and erwinsie, few of us mods agree that your negative votes do not provide enough justification based on facts, hence they are revoked. They are more of an opinion. You're more than welcome to express your opinions through your comments and by either voting positive (like the deal), or no vote (don't like the deal). As members of this site for quite a while now, I'm sure both of you are aware that votes without sufficient positive votes do not get to the front page, won't get many page views, and will get buried over time.

    meh

    • +2

      revoked!

  • Its a VERY 'ish deal. Nothing special

  • Let me see…??

23" LCD monitor.. it's a LG.. they have great warranty… compared to most retailers it is a bargain @ $189.95.. add in free shipping and walla.. a real bargain!!

Some knockers on here should understand that NOT everyone lives in a capital city next door to MSY or the equivalent. Some retail places still charge over $350 for a 23" monitor and they are some mystery brand at that.

Good post and thanks for the bargain "iibuy".

I think we're just spoiled with those really cheap deals from Dell.
