For those wondering why you save $532, it's because the plan is $88 ($70 + $18).
    $18*24=$432.
Plus the $100 cashback from cashrewards, it brings it to $532.

On top of that, there is also another $100 woolworth gift voucher.

"Note that the $100 Woolworths gift card in not available with this offer."

      • I apologise. I stand corrected on that point.

    Sweet.
Are you planning on or currently negotiating the 59$ 3GB S7 Edge plan?

    • +2

That was a much better deal a few weeks ago for low data users.

    • Need this to happen again!!

  • +8

dont do it. you will regret it. trust me.

    • +1

      Details??

    • +1

      Go On…

    • Don't do what?

    • Regret on Optus network like Unlimited calls rubbish at night?

      • +5

        Woolworths use Telstra network

      • +2

Who is in earth will pay $700 per month for two freaking long year?

        No one I know

      • +1

        It's $70 per month mate, not $700!

      • +1

If you think you wouldn't use 8gb data, you obviously haven't actually used 4G.

        Gotta love OzBargain
        Flamed for making a typo….
Outcast as a foreigner "bugger off back home" for suggesting that Aus has slow data speeds in nasty xenophobic attack…,,
Sometimes amazed at bravery of those who post on here

thats what make people keep coming back to this forum.

      • +2

Seeing that someone downloaded 1 terabyte in 24 hours through telstra 4g I think you will find that 8gb per month is not some astonishing amount of data and that the 4g speed is plenty for most consumption.

It is also a big reason why band 28 is important.

      • I can see that it will be good value when you look at the big picture.

Not long ago i was 50 dollars for 8gb data so for an extra 20 a month you get the top of the range handset.

Going back a few years i had the s3 which was famaged beyond repair i replaced the s3 with a note 2 that wit the best deal wa through optus for 20 a month for the remainder of the contract…. 18 months.

  • Just went on the website and this appears to be their current deal anyway. Or am I missing something?

    • +1

It's $88 on the website not $70. And in this case $100 cashback rather than a gift card, gift cards for groceries are the same as cash for a lot of people though anyway.

      • Oh this is for the edge, never mind

    Optus 1GB unlimited calls - 71$ a month on 24 month contract

Is this (optus) a good deal too?
    Its Note 7

    • +4

I think if you used the Note 7's features you'd tear through that little data. Kinda limits the utility of this deal.

    • Only if you have another eligible Optus service and can share data…

  • Just wish it had the Gear VR as well. :(

  • +2

Need a deal on the Note 7. Surprised that their pricing is more than Virgin.

  • +4

Full disclosure re: commission / kick backs please

    • +1

Obviously it's greater than $100 otherwise cashrewards are doing it for nothing. Not sure if TA is commission or salary based at CR though.

      • +7

Full time salary based employee TB. No commission :)

    • +6

Yeah, coz that happens everywhere you go…

      Muppets

  • I got this one from Virgin on $77 with 7 Gigs

  • oh boy. looks like an equivalent deal (in terms of subjective value) to the optus s7 deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/262524

    • +1

      s7 not edge

      • true, but it was my subjective value take on it. I don't really differentiate both the phones, for what additional they provide.

        good point none the less.

        • +1

they are still two different phones. Similar. But some people prefer the edge one.

        • @The Land of Smeg: fair. I guess up to people to decide.

        • @The Land of Smeg:
I have the S7 edge and hate isn't a strong enough word for my feelings towards it. The notes were much better phones. The model has had lots of teething problems so buyer beware.

      • Surely that's a good thing?

  • +2

Looking forward to a similar deal when the iPhone 7 is released.
(Apple detractors - I don't care if you think samsung is better blah blah blah.)

    • +1

I wouldn't hold my breath for a similar deal ie $70 plan with 8gb data for the ip7. Maybe 6s.

  • Noted that Woolworths uses Telstra's 4G network but does it use 4GX as well? or is it limited to 4G speeds only?

  • FYI:

$70 8GB plan with S7 Edge only. $18 per month discount. Please note your upfront payment will be $88 and the first discount will appear as a credit on your first bill.

  • Are woolies staff able to get a discount on this one?

  • I believe no MVNO on the Telstra network gets access to the 4GX service.

You need to be with Telstra directly for that

    • thanks.

  • No international Calls ?
Currently on $80 plan with Vodafone for Nexus6P with unlimited calls to 10 countries.
Just $10 more. I think that is a much better value for people with overseas family.

  • +2

TA do us a deal for iPhone 7 when that is released next week !

  • Okay, so I am 99% sold on this. I just have a couple of questions for you folks who are all better at bargaining than me:

    1. Are we sure we get the $100 via CashRewards AND $100 Woolworths Bucks on our EDR?

    2. Are there any other services you get as a benefit of it being on the Telstra network? I assume it lets you use Telstra Air, for example, free Netflix? (They currently offer 3 months free to new customers.) I used to use Boost for prepaid and recall that a lot of offers for Telstra customers automatically flowed down to Boost. Can you use Telstra Thanks?

      1. Are we sure we get the $100 via CashRewards AND $100 Woolworths Bucks on our EDR?

      No, you don't:

Note that the $100 Woolworths gift card in not available with this offer.

AFAIK, the free Netflix etc only applies to Telstra accounts. WW just uses the Telstra network, but you aren't a customer to Telstra as such. So you don't get any of the benefits that Telstra customers do, like what you stated. But that's also why Telstra charges more (1 of the reasons)

      • Oh, wow, then, for me at least this is a terrible deal. If I was really committed to having the Samsung S7 Edge, then fine, it is better than others… but if I'm happy to use other phones (with similar features and specs) then I wouldn't go anywhere near this.

        Thanks!

        • +1

Equivalent deal through Telstra is about $100/month.

How is this such a terrible deal?

  • Any chance of an s7 deal with woolworths. I like it over the edge?

  • Do you guys think a Note 7 deal will be released soon?
