When to Book Flights?

Hi all, looking at travelling to Europe from Sydney beginning of June next year for a month.

Should I be booking ticket now, or should I wait for sale fares, I'm a bit worried that this is peak time for going to Europe, the prices will go up not down….

Any opinions please???

Start looking now!! June/July is basically peak season for Europe and the tickets will definitely get more expensive closer to those months. We personally went during the winter as it was the 'off-season' and the prices were much better as compared to going in June/July, however travelling to Europe during summer would be a much better and comfortable experience, so start asap! :)

Etihad launched some really good deals this weekend (under $1,200 return to many destinations in Europe) up to the end of June. I would book them now!

You can fly to Paris in June with Thai Airways for $1215. Do a search on Skyscanner - search the whole month of June, and use 'everywhere' as your destination. This will let you see which city is cheapest to fly to, and on what dates. Definitely worth booking now with prices so low.

    BIG TIP :
When searching for your flights, use incognito mode to browse if you're on chrome. Flight prices have a chance of fluctuating significantly if the website you're on reads and uses your cookies and history. This may end up saving you $50-100 which you can put to good use. Good luck :)

Great tip. Very interesting point. Have you tried with and without incognito?

Book now - a lot of Europe flights are on sale now for early June travel

Eg Qatar is showing Sydney <> Amsterdam return as $1,245 up to 9 June 2017.

  • Anything peak season you want to book as soon as:
    A. Flight schedule becomes available and
    B. You know your travel dates.

Very rarely do airlines offer sale fares for peak/holiday seasons. I would always compare airline direct with a third party booking website to see how much you are saving. Key thing is stepping all the way to the end of the booking process to factor in booking/cc fees.

If you can't be bothered booking yourself / getting someone to double check your work for you, find the flights you want and just get Flight Centre to price beat it. It's their responsibility to make sure all information is entered correctly, visa research is made known (ever see someone accidentally book 31 days in Thailand? Not fun) and anything else that might crop up.
