Looking to buy a new pair of headphones under $250 and was wondering if the Sony MDR-1A are any good, have been reading a lot of reviews, but wanted a more first hand experience from the consumer point of view.
Anyone own the Sony MDR-1A?

Thanks for your insight on your experience on them, much appreciated! Just wanted to ask, are their any build quality concerns that you have experienced with them? Durability wise?
No worries. They seem pretty sturdy so far. Another thing is that they are not comfortable when resting the back of your head against something, or lying down.
Thinking about getting a set too. Found them on the sony website for $156 + free delvery for sony x members which is free to join.
Yes I have had them for almost a year. The sound is good, especially for electronic music. The sound is very crisp. There is alot of separation of instruments. I use them with a samung galaxy s3 and I have been really happy with them. The cables are just abit too small though. The cable that has the mic for android phones is inferior in sound quality compared to the one without. It took a while to find a comfortable angle to place them and the ear cuffs can make your ears feel warm. This isn't a big deal and I dont notice it anymore. I wish I would of tried a few different pairs before buying. All in all, they are good.
