Moto G4 16GB Vs Xiaomi Whatever

Looking at a new phone and the deal on the Amazon Moto G4 has me almost pulling the trigger but a few people there seems to think some of the china droids offer better value, so the question is why. Non-negotiable for me straight up is band 28, then also important is Camera performance, I don't think I have every really worried about the 0.5s longer my Motto G may take to open an app over other phones I could have bought at the time but have regretted average low light photos of my kids as they are growing up. I also don't have a lot of head space to deal with dodgy firmware/bloatware/malware so if that's the case with Xiaomi then the plug and play of a Moto G4 will be a big plus.
So what makes a similar priced Xiaomi better?

i have the Rednote 3, full of chinese bloatware and no google out of the box, im not too sure the specs are that much better and for the hassle i think id have gone with the G4 had i known, yes i have more ram and storage but im unlikely ever to see an update

    here

  • And a plethora of opinions here

  • I also don't have a lot of head space to deal with dodgy firmware/bloatware/malware

Just make sure Globel ROM is installed when you are buying Xiaomi.

G4 Plus : Camera, Stock android
Xiaomi : Gaming, better performance, and battery.

    • Ahem, it's the G4

      • Moto G4 and G4 plus takes similar quality of photo.

  • Which comes with delicious bloatware?

    • Plenty of reports of china droids coming with bloatware, some vendors/brands probably worse than others. Just pulled the trigger on the G4 as it suits me better but would vary on what's important to the user. So in short Xiamoi may come with bloatware.

  • Assuming both phones have band 28 that makes camera performance your biggest deciding factor. The brand name Korean phones are the safer choice for better quality photos.

I recommend you search on Google for mobile phone reviews which include the camera. See which photos are the most pleasing to you.

Additionally, you can visit photo sharing websites like Flickr and search for photos taken on the camera/mobile phone you're thinking to buy.

    • This was a pretty good comparison for the camera's, it's for the g4+ which has more MP but other reviews I read couldn't really pick the difference between the G4 and the G4+. The Readmi Note 3 however, was faster in the speed test, as I don't game the small delay isn't really an issue for me.
